I think they're setting up Erlich to finally hit it big on his way out. He's taken a huge 'beating' this season with Jin Yang hitting it big, and now the VR guy causing Erlich to lose his job and getting screwed out of that deal.
The Action Jack and Hooli bits have been great lately, the way they make fun of big tech companies.

Even as I laughed at it, one part of me was agreeing with Jack, "Damn, Gavin really is pretty good."

If this happens, then is there a way that Gavin can frick Richard out of the technology? Based on the last few episodes, I don't "think" he can, but we've seen the smallest detail screw the guys over many a time over the years.
Well he gave Richard the patent, so I don't think so (although these writers always come out with something)
But he could come up with something extremely similar and tell Richard to sue him.

Richard doing the Heisman pose was absolutely hilarious to me.
This was one of the more "serious" episodes but I'm looking forward to E9. For some reason I thought they were just going to burn Erlich alive and then no TJ Miller next season.

They aren't going to achieve success until the series finale.
Most likely. But, if Judge and company still enjoy making it, I could eventually see them having a season or two where they've made it, and the insanity that occurs. To where you see normal people turning into someone like Gavin. If they make it to early, the show would get stale quickly.

I'm really late on this past week's episode but Jack's Hooli Con entrance preparation had me dying. Jack in the box

TJ is leaving because
TJ was on the Nerdist podcast last week and explained why he is leaving. His wife is an artist in NY and he went into a long explanation about how he wants to support her while she's there doing that instead of being away for 4 months shooting Silicon Valley on the reg. Also said that he views himself as a standup mostly, so being able to go up on stage a ton like he can in NY as opposed to LA is a is pull for being there, needs to live more so that he can comment about life better in his standup, etc.
TJ's a strange cat. Every time he quotes Nietzsche I feel like I'm watching this scene from A Fish Called Wanda.

Somehow Richard is gonna expose fat Haley Joel Osment's tech and make it work on mobile and let Erlich get the money.
Something along those lines. A ultra successful Erlich will make for good cameos later on and makes a good excuse to keep him out of most episodes, also allows one of the guys to make it big.
The one thing that isn't real life about all these deals, is that they're either unenforceable or they don't even get a contract drawn up. You'd think Erlich would have gotten something in writing as many times as he's been fricked.

Doubtful. Much of it is intent and could lead to long drawn out legal battles like earlier in the series with IP enforcement. Many of the have nots don't have the capital to fight.
Erlich im sure had an employment contract with new raviga but that was terminated by him. His expectation was to be part of a future deal but the partner nixed him from the contract. Erlich brought no value in the new deal for tech or leverage- and his name wasn't associated with HJO company. Essentially goodwill isn't enforceable.
Smart Erlich wouldn't have left new raviga without an ownership stake in the VR company. But the way the deals play out in this show and the level of (un) sophistication by primary characters leads me to believe this is plausible for these types.

I don't know why but he very end last week killed me.
And how much are tickets to Hooli con?
Why would I have that information?

Haha I didn't get the triangles.
I think Richard may be one of my most hated characters ever. Dude is such a whiny little bitch that keeps ruining everything good they have.
The failure model is also a bit extreme at this point as we are 4 seasons in and they literally have nothing to show for it and no product

So they have them commit major federal crimes, cause injuries possibly to thousands, lose the house they are living in, and they all hate each other now.
Sweet.
(The explosions will turn out to not be related to them obviously)
