Fantastic episode! I lost it on the literal double a-hole reveal and the following conversation with Erlich.

That and the SWOT board... pure genius writing.

Every time I think about Erlich telling Gilfoye that he looks like a ferret that gave up on himself 6 months ago, I laugh out loud. Probably my favorite line from this season so far.

God I love this show. It's 30 minutes of constant laughter.

When he pulled out the SWOT board and said, "I've boobie trapped the house with business tools", I lost it.

I think my favorite Jared moment of the season was when he said he had celebrated that morning and just kind of keeps reiterating it and creepily smiling. I lost it

"Apple Maps Bad".

LMAO.

Also had iPhone 4 on the list. I was very surprised they gave 2 Apple examples.

Is there any doubt at this point that Mike Judge is anything other than a National Treasure?

2 Microsoft (Zune and Vista), 2 Apple (iPhone 4 and Apple Maps) - that's fair. Those are big boys and girls at those two companies.

Yeah, but no Android/Google.

My real point is that they didn't genuflect at the Apple altar.

Yeah, but Hooli is supposed to be the Google stand-in (although there is a little Apple culture, too).

So, that would be piling on.

that's what I figured, but is it actually skewering anything other than its size? Does google have any of the particular foibles in real life which they seem to be tweaking?

Yes. The omniverous nature of Google, the quirkiness of the management team, the all things to all people type stuff.

Peter Gregory is supposedly inspired by Peter Thiel (hedge fund guy and PayPal cofounder).

The lay out of the campus, the cult-ish nature of the work force, (like the other guy said) the "hands in everything" feel of the company, the bike meetings, "the most innovative company in the world", the name of the company itself, etc, etc - there are a quite a few nods to Google in there, I think. Gavin Belson is supposedly based loosely off the Salesforce CEO, though.

Yeah - since it is all fictionalized, they're free to pick and choose what's funny and what works.
