Ok..This trailer will get ripped but I like the humorous approach. I'll check it out.

All of these shows and films take place in the same universe, yet they all lack a consistent tone. Some are action dramas, some are action comedies, while some are action thrillers. It’s one of the plethora of reasons I stopped watching the MCU.

Is it Taika Waititi funny, or actually funny?

Man I don’t know. I want it to be cool but these trailers don’t give me confidence. We’ll see.

You’re complaining about…diversity of storytelling? LMAO.

Trailer was better than I expected. I guess if I wanted a Lawyer story I want it to be centered around Dare Devil rather than She Hulk but this has some potential.

She looks really uncanny valley to me when Hulked up, I’ve never gotten that vibe from Banner’s Hulk but she looks very odd to me.

This trailer looks FAR better than the original. The CGI is tighter and you get more of a feel for the overall tone.

I was hoping for more Savage She-Hulk than the 4th-wall-breaker, but if they keep it as toned and balanced as the trailer then it should be a good series.

Ruffalo is so cringe as Hulk.

Agreed. I liked that he had control for Endgame because it fit the plot well. The downside is that rampaging, smashing, angry Hulk is the only Hulk that's worthwhile.

It looks like beatdown by Thanos means Ragnarok was the last real Hulk we'll get (I don't think Ruffalo likes the angry destruction machine either).

Female character with brand new powers automatically better than established male character with tons of experience.

Definite Mary Sue vibes.

I'm not so sure.

But the sneak peek of Dare Devil was cool. I hope they don't frick it up.

But based off recent Disney/Marvel, I predict they will.

It probably would have been very jarring for audiences after watching The Godfather if The Godfather Part II was a buddy comedy showcasing the exploits of Michael Corleone and Tom Hagen as they navigate through Nevada and Cuba politics. The amount of tonal shifts in the MCU since Disney took over the franchise have been jarring to say the least. Phase One was fairly consistent with tone all the way up through The Avengers. Since then...tone has been all over the place. For a shared universe, that's annoying from my point of view. I understand I'm in the minority on this board when it comes to having this opinion and thus don't care if I'm downvoted to Hell.

The issue for me comes to suspension of disbelief.

I've already got a bias against "normal, casual everyday life carrying on as usual", in the MCU post-Snap.

Our world has had just Covid, which was a common cold that killed 0.01% of those infected (I think I got the numbers right), and the world is way different than it used to be. Still see some folks wandering around with masks in public, medical records are mandatory for any travel, etc.
So now, imagine what things would be like if half the planet turned to dust, and then 99.9% reappear without warning 5 years later, completely unaged (and as we saw in Black Widow, still in mid-thought as when they left). Toss in the multiple other events of mass destruction, and the public knowledge that aliens are out there and occasionally attack us.

Most social structures would be way different, probably unrecognizable to us. But the MCU is acting as though most people still work M-F and worry about picking up Chinese vs Greek for dinner.

It just doesn't work anymore.

I can actually understand where you coning from on that. Would have been cool for a totalitarian organization like Red Skull or something to try and take power over the world during the snap.

I think the issue was they rushed End Game. There should have been at least a few years worth of movies during the snap’s time period. We never saw any of the real consequences of Infinity War.

This is so goofy. Within individual franchises they generally keep the same theme and tone. Why should they do the same across very different hero types? That would be boring as hell.

That's been the case since day one of the MCU.
