While I was entertained, I was pretty disappointed.

I don't think it's nearly as good as Casino Royale or Skyfall. I'll put it ahead of Quantum of Solace.

The twist didn't really feel that powerful, and some of the decisions Waltz's character made just didn't really make much sense. The ending was was ridiculous.

Anyone else who has seen this feel this way?

I prefer the fun James Bond films.

Kingsman was a better Bond film than the Craig 007's.

I felt like they really nailed it with Casino Royale. It was a perfect balance of story, action, drama, etc. The story was pretty straight forward and the plot twists weren't forced. There were just a handful of explosions. The soundtrack was on point. The movie felt real but wasn't dark. It really was a perfect James Bond movie.

It's a shame they can't recapture what worked for that movie. It seems like they are trying to double down on being dark, gritty, and full of depth.

Nothing about Spectre has been positive. The reviews of the leaked script. The god-awful title song. Just a whole bunch of "meh." I hope I'm pleasantly surprised.

Really? Even the part where he had to revive himself Pulp Fiction style? So edgy.

Well, they had an original work of fiction to go on. Since then, they've had to come up with their own ideas, unfortunately.

Did you think Skyfall was good? If so, I'm not sure you can be trusted.

So here's my two cents...

I enjoyed it overall but I felt it was too rushed (despite being the longest Bond film ever) and the music was godawful. Thomas Newman is a fricking joke and should slit his wrists for butchering two Bond scores in a row. The editing and pacing of the film seemed a bit erratic at times. I read the leaked script and a lot was cut that shouldn't have been. The subplot didn't have a great build up and they left a lot on the table with the Franz/Blofield angle.

Granted they were given absolutely no time for post production and i feared that would show, but still it could have been better but wasn't a bad film by any means.

But it was still better than Skyfall (in terms of the story) and far superior to Quantum of Suckass. So overall, it wasn't a bad film. I feel it suffered from being too rushed from pre to post production.

I agree. I won't see it until Monday after work, but didn't these people learn anything from Casino Royale? That was Bond being Bond. Going out, womanizing, gambling, and they actually made Bond into an interesting character. The tension in the poker game was much more interesting than any of the action scenes Bond has been in in recent memory.

And what is with disguising these obvious iconic villains? Everyone knew Christoph Waltz was Blofield. Everyone knew that Benedict Cumberbatch was Khan. Why was Guy Pierce the Mandarin? Will they just play these villains straight. We all know what should be going on, and you're just insulting the fans intelligence by doing anything else.

What a dreadful movie.

It was sterile Mendes at his worst. And Craig... he was such a vibrant figure in Layer Cake, but here he might as well be a sleepwalker.

I don't think you should (or could) pin this on Craig though. Lots had to go wrong to produce this movie.

I found it to be an enjoyable Bond film and liken it to a modern-day From Russia With Love. I look forward to seeing it again.

I listened to the soundtrack yesterday. Awful. Just a rehash of Skyfall.

007 Movies used to have great scores. Even David Arnold had a good score for Casino Royale.

There are better bits in the film, but yeah, Newman has been garbage. Sadly, he's tied to Mendes.

I saw Craig in an independent film the other day playing a supporting role as an American in a mental hospital and he was actually super interesting and vibrant in that role. he was really good! Totally unlike his sterile boring unlikeable Bond. I think he's been wasted on doing this Bourne-rip-off version of Bond. I think Craig's latest comments about wanting to slit his wrists reveal that he hasn't enjoyed the character at all and probably (rightfully) thinks it's stymieing his career.

They shoukd stick to the successful original Bond recipe.
Heres an ingredient list:

1. High speed low drag action against a super tech enemy.

2. Bond employs the latest and greatest unusual gadgets.

4. Badass aston martin db series with unbelievable gadgets.

3. Lots of hot poon. When you have a series who featured a female by the name of pussygalore, you know what I mean.
