I was expecting something along the lines of Team America. It just completely failed from a narrative perspective. I have no idea why they wouldn't have at least started it off with a sequence where everything seems peachy, we see the kitchen scene where all the food gets massacred, and then have Frank wake up from a terrible dream that he immediately forgets about.

Waiting 40 minutes to do that scene is a huge failure, especially when everyone is on the floor just watching the potato being peeled in the trailer but not in the theater. They ruin the suspense. Should have started off as overly innocent instead of dog cussing from the start. There shouldn't have been a single cuss word uttered before food realizes what it actually is, and then they start flipping their shite.

It is exactly what I expected from Seth Rogan.

This sounds like a compliment but comes across as more of an indictment...

Indeed, sausage party is what you would expect from Seth Rogan.

"I relish the fact that you mustered the strength to catch up to me! ....That's right you three, shut your mouths."

Definitely the best line of the movie.

Forgot about that with Sandler. I remember now the guy saying they were on the lot when we were there. Makes sense

Bunch of Debbie downer sourpusses in this thread.

I thought it was hilarious. The Bagel and the Lavish Roll were hilarious. The douche was great. The dinner prep scene was funny

After hearing how horrible it was I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't great but it was funny and remained funny enough through the entire movie. I thought the political and religious angles were pushed too hard but it didn't ruin the movie for me.

The last 5 minutes of the movie makes some of the slower parts of the story worth it, IMO. I feel like they wrote the whole thing just so they could do that last scene.

I enjoyed the movie. I wasn't expecting to see the Shawshank of animated food comedy or anything.

Thought it was OKAY- could have gone without the 15 minute food orgy to end.

Piece of shite of a movie. It's shameful that these guys can put out poorly thought out garbage and continue to make money while there are struggling comedians out there trying to be the next man up. Most of these guys are ugly as shite too, I don't get their appeal.

Hollywood just sucks

I'm watching it now. About 20 minutes in.

IT won't win any awards, but I'm laughing out loud at a lot of parts.

The bagel and the pita (or whatever he is) arguing about whose isle it is is cracking me up

ETA: And now the "illegal" Mexican food

It got old quick tbh, but it wasn't terrible.

Still...

lazy pop culture or political humor with obvious puns over and over and over again...interspersed with Terrance and Phillip level poop and sex humor...and doing the Seth Rogen thing - saying frick or shite just for the sake it might get a laugh...because there is no joke in the scene...except for the swear word.

I made it half-way through and just got bored of the same routine recycled with every character. I think the audience is teenagers...jokes were middle school level...It wasn't fresh, the movie never evolved beyond the set-up in the first 10 minutes.
