people who needed to be consoled through the election (on either side) results are not strong people.
in my adult life, i've lived through 5 elections of guys i didn't like/vote for and 2 of the dudes i did like/vote for and i went to work the next day and moved on with my life.

I wonder at what point people become less obsessed with political advocacy. We're not dealing with a situation where one party is run by Gandhi.
The last three candidates are a Clinton, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden. I'm not saying people shouldn't vote for the lesser of two available evils. But holy shite these are terrible people to choose between.
Getting emotional about your corrupt candidate losing should be fundamentally less distressing than how terrible the whole system has become.

Some people are delusional, alright. Captain Marvel is awful, and kicks Jackson's character in the balls from beginning to end. Brie did it to herself with her condescending, shitty personality. Even co-stars like Hemsworth were annoyed by her. If she's the kind of person who gets 'broken' by Donald Trump getting elected, her negative public perception is clearly an accurate picture of her as a person.
Plus, those big-arse feet, bruh.
