A couple of things that rip my heart out everytime...

The Interview with Dick Winters at the end of the last episode of Band Of Brothers.

quote:

I treasure my remark to my grandson who asked, "Grandpa, were you a hero in the war?" Grandpa said, "No... but I served in a company of heroes".

The scene in Saving Private Ryan where the Old Ryan goes down to his knees crying...

quote:

Old James Ryan: Tell me I have led a good life.
Ryan's Wife: What?
Old James Ryan: Tell me I'm a good man.
Ryan's Wife: You *are*.

In Platoon when they're in the helicopter and the see Sgt. Elias on the ground being chased by the VC. That image of him on his knees with his arms in the air as he is being shot.... sucks every time I see it.

I've always used the little girl from the Patriot as my gauge for people...cuz if that doesn't tear you up a little then you basically have no soul.

No one thinks Apollo Creed's death/funeral in Rocky IV needs to be mentioned here? I am just shocked...

Is that the one with the little boy getting all upset?

Usually that clip (it's a boxing movie and this little kid just starts bawling) is mentioned in these threads every time. I've never seen the movie, but someone has posted that scene before, and it looked pretty sad.

Also, people usually mention the Gayle Sayers speech from Brian's Song.

Turner and Hooch when they put the dog down

Saving Private Ryan when Ryan starts to cry in the cemetary

Schindler's List when Schindler is leaving everyone behind, they give him the ring, and he says "I could of saved more" or the end with the charicters and the real life Jews putting rocks on his grave

Terms of Endearment when Deborah Winger dies or talks to her two boys in the hospital

Steel Magnolias when Sally Field is in the hospital with her daughter, cemetary scene is sad too, but for some reason the scenes in the hospital kill me

Then ending of Immitation of Life or when the black girl's mom brings her gloves (or was it lunch?) to her little girls school

Forest Gump- when he asks if little Forrest is okay and Jenny says he's the smartest one in his class, then at her grave when he says he tore down her father's house

Yeah, I found it: Wake up, Champ.

The Patriot - Susan.

There were a couple of parts in I Am Legend that were sad...when he killed the dog and when he was talking to the mannequin in the movie store afterwards.

There are some good clips on youtube of peoples' collections of sad scenes.
