Every year I try to see all the academy award nominees for best picture.

Last night I watched Room.

It was not good. Nothing happened.

Anyone else see it ?

I thought it was good. I'd like to see Brie Larson win an Oscar, but I love her so I may be biased.

I mean it wasn't an action movie but that quote is ridiculous. Seeing the kid grow up and advance from only knowing his world is confined to a shed was a damn good story. The escape had my heart racing. The end was kind of dull but it was a really good movie

I thought it was really good. Probably right after Revenant as my top movie of the year. Only thing I wish had been covered more was William H Macy's character. We kind of see him, and then he disappears without a conclusion to his story. But, I'm not sure how you can claim "Nothing happened" unless you were told there would be explosions and you didn't happen to see any.

She did a good job in Scott Pilgrim...

I was just listing those movies that really showed talent.

He was obviously freaked out over his daughter being repeatedly raped and his daughter having offspring as the result of that rape.

The reason he divorced was over his daughter. He couldn't bear to see it all.

I have to say, the stand in dad was the shite!

The best/interesting/thoughtful part was the kid was weak in Room and needed his strong from his mom, and the mom was weak outside Room and needed her strong from her son.

(I've said this before)

It didn't matter because he didn't matter at all to the kid. She kept him completely removed.

It's like that "12 Angry Men" movie. Twelve guys talking in a room for two hours? NO THANKS!!!
