Dany, Joffrey, Sansa, Robert, Cersei, Brienne, Margaery, Khal Drogo and Viserys are way too high. I'd drop all of them by at least 10 spots, more likely 15.
Jon, Sam, Bran, Barristan, Theon, Robb, Little Finger, The Hound and Jaime are way too low. Would bump by at least 10.
My top 10 would be
1) Tyrion
2) Arya
3) Jon
4) Jaime
5) Little Finger
6) Theon
7) Bran
8) Varys
9) The Hound
10) Barristan

It's hard to separate book from just the characters in the show, so my list would based on the books.

The show replaced Roose and Arya at Harrenhal with Tywin and Arya so maybe if you're going exclusively off of the show.
Otherwise Tywin doesn't really stand out. At least not imo.

Tywin is a character I love to despise. He is the worst father in the series (only next to Craster) and deserves everything he cherishes to be destroyed utterly in the end due to his terrible parenting.

Fair enough.
For those saying Joffrey is too high - I agree that he might be just a smidge high and yeah, I'd put Tyrion ahead of him. But I don't have a problem with Joffrey being near the top. He IS a great "love to hate" character and the actor is doing a hell of a job with him. And I'd definitely put Arya over Sansa. I've never been much of a fan of the Sansa character.
Jon is way way too low on the list. Not sure how they came up with that one.
And, would it have killed them to sneak Hodor in there somewhere?

My favorite characters would be:
1. Dany-because she's badass and has dragons
2. Margary-because I think she is becoming very good at playing the game of thrones
3. Tywin-because he's the real boss
4. Tyrion-because he's funny
5. Jon Snow-because he's hot and hopefully he's gonna leave the North and join forces with Dany
6. Littlefinger-because he's a sneaky little bird
7. Varys-because he's a sneaky little spider
8. Grandma Tyrell-because she's funny
9. the remaining Direwolves-because they are direwolves
10. The dragons-because they are MFing Dragons!!
Top people I hate:
