That's so shitty of them to do that. His family needs to have their privacy.

Good Morning Vietnam is still one of my favorites.
"Five months in Vietnam and my best friend is a V.C. THIS WILL NOT LOOK GOOD ON A RESUMÈ!"
And The Best of Times is woefully underrated. LINK
(I also just re-watched Moscow on the Hudson - elegant movie and wonderful performance)

Shepard Smith just called him a coward and druggie. Also, he wondered why he didn't think about his kids. Fox News can be so freakin heartless.

And it's that kind of shitty attitude perpetuated by media that makes is even harder for people to deal with and treat mental illness.
It's such a fricking shame there are people, educated people, who think like that.

I couldn't agree with you more. I can't believe we allow the media to speculate and call someone a coward based off their own personal bias.

Yeah I believe Jim Carrey has battled this, along with Owen Wilson and Freddie Prinze (Sr)

If that's true, Fox needs to issue a public apology to Robin's family. He may be a celebrity but the circumstances surrounding his death are a private matter only accessible to his family and the Sheriff's Office investigating it. Nobody has any business speculating about it.

Honestly, if you really think about it, the world has lost the single person who probably gave more smiles than anyone in history. I can't think of anyone of any walk of life who dislikes Robin Williams. If you want family entertainment, he's got it. If you want ridiculous vulgarity, he's got it. If you want a kind humanitarian who can lift a person's spirit in the moment of death, this guy has it. The man was a walking bundle of joy and a cartoon character come to life.
When Christopher Reeve wanted to die, Robin comes to his room in disguise with a Russian accent and says it was time to spread em since he immediately needed a proctology exam, which helped give him the will to live. He called Speilberg every other day while on the set on Schindler's List in order to brighten up his dampened spirit when filming it. And his wonderful work with Saint Jude.
The man was an absolute godsend, and the world is a less happy place without him. RIP Robin. You helped shape my childhood and helped millions more remember what it was like to be one without a care in the world. You will be gravely, gravely missed by the entire world.

Shepard Smith is eventually gonna off himself if Fox News doesn't let him come out of the closet
Hes probably just overcompensating for his own struggle.

I wonder if he had any idea how much his death would affect people. People all over are really grieiving this.
I wish that people could know how much they mean to others while they are here. It seems to be a hidden truth that only really comes out when they are gone.
I think Robin did realize it completely how much he was loved, but I could always sense that he was not living for himself whatsoever. It was all about others. I think he finally had enough of it and finally ended it. The man was completely selfless and this may be the single biggest celebrity death that has struck me the hardest.

A certain man made an appointment to see a psychologist. He arrived at the psychologist's office and said to him, "Doctor, I always feel depressed. No matter what I do I still feel depressed. I just don't know what to do."
The psychologist looked at him and said, "Come with me to the window."
The man followed and then the psychologist pointed outside and said, "Do you see that tent over there in the distance? Well, there is a circus in town and it is really good. There are lots of acts to watch, specially the clown acts. And there is one clown in particular who is extremely funny. He will make you rock with laughter over and over again. Go and see that clown and I guarantee that you will not have reason to be depressed again!"
The man turned to the psychologist with sad eyes and said, "Doctor, I am that clown.
RIP Robin

Same here. I can't shake the feeling of just being sad. I never thought a celebrity death would make me feel like this

Damn this sucks, probably my favorite movie of all time is Good Will Hunting and a big part because of him.

It starts to hit me when I watch the clips of him on the news networks now.. and all the great things he's done for others. He's among my favorite actors of all time and I guess it wasn't hitting me because it doesn't seem real.

I know I just listened to the entire hourlong interview on WTF with Marc Maron done in 2010 and at the end he has an hilarious riff with his conscience about saying "frick life", and I was laughing at loud, but then wanting to cry also knowing his conscience lost the battle this time.
