To be honest - 3 Indiana Jones movies were enough, and even Temple of Doom was kind of "meh" in spots.

That's perfect. Indiana Jones is wrongly accused of molesting some of the young boys in the Temple of Doom. It'll be the first action hero courtroom drama.

I've always thought that they should do a Young Indiana Jones movie. But whatever they do, get back to the religious theme.

The television series starred Sean Patrick Flanery and won a bunch of awards. I just think it was too expensive. By the time they go reorganized (with the DTV films), the moment was lost.
I'd much prefer to see more of those stories than a reboot. Heck, Labeouf could continue to play his character in a new film series - that wouldn't step on Indy too badly, but, then again, who would pay to watch that $hit.

Well they did have that short-lived series The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles in the early '90s starring Sean Patrick Flannery as teenage Indy. It wasn't that bad, IIRC--lots of placing Indiana Jones into different events in history around the time of WWII. They also had a few episodes with little kid Indy, but I didn't like those as much.
