when Superman flew Doomsday into space and the feeble POTUS fired the nuke, why wouldn't the EMP from the bomb that high up in space touch the whole city below also?? I thought the EMP pulse was infinitely spherical?

I'm boggled but just boring day at work also, and this is the only thing I've posted so far. FML

I shuts up now

Not adding anything to the conversation but I felt the whole movie was one giant plot hole.

Haven't thought about that, and that's actually what happened in "The Dark Knight Returns", which Snyder ripped off but had no idea why that story works.

Maybe the atmosphere deflected or absorbed it. If it was detonated in space, or even low Earth orbit, I imagine the zero or low gravity would affect it as well.

I don't even remember that happening. I think by this point in the movie I was looking up exes on Facebook on my phone.

The earth's magnetic field would disrupt the EMP.

A nuclear EMP burst has a limit. And high altitude nukes have been donated before. Look up operation starfish prime.

Thats probably one of the smaller plot holes in that movie.

It is a misconception that there is no gravity in space. In low earth orbit (250 miles above the surface) the force of gravity is still 90% of what it would be on the earth's surface.

The sense of weightlessness is due to the fact that the object is orbiting the earth and is essentially continually falling.

And the fact that they're spinning around the earth creating centrifugal force away from gravity. Plus the fact that there's no air and gravity can't exist in a vacuum. Lots of factors people don't know about space gravity.

You inspired me to google this and I am pleased to report that your arse is wrong.

There is no such thing as zero gravity in space. Gravity is everywhere in the universe and manifests itself in black holes, celestial orbits, ocean tides, and even our own weight.

Nah dude you're thinking of higgs photons and other earth physics, this is space gravity we're talking about. Hole different ball game.

Slightly off topic, i just started brickleberry the comedy central cartoon from awhile back. Good show, kinda reminds me of drawn together. How come this didn't get picked up?

if EMPs were always hitting the earth we wouldnt have a fricking planet.

thankfully our beautiful magnetoshpere which is likely undergoing a reversal has and protects us the majority of the time.

My thoughts were:

If Superman would have punched him one more time I feel like Doomsday would've floated off into the empty void of space. He couldn't "fly" like Superman.

-Boom-

WRONG!!!

The moon orbits the earth because of the gravity that exists within the vacuum of space between them.

The earth orbits the sun because of the gravity that exists within the vacuum of space between them.

See where I am going with this?

Our Solar System moves the way it does within the Milky Way Galaxy because of the gravity that exists within the vacuum of space.

That is the ONLY thing that you said right and you actually proved it.

Nice job!!!

In this movie Doomsday was made from General Zod and displayed many of his powers. It can be implied that because of this that he could fly as well.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you meant to phrase this differently.

Look I get what you're saying, it's a comic book movie and we have to take things with a grain of salt. But gravity in space is just stupid, it's a vacuum so you can't hear anything including gravity.

Gimme a second I'll link the wiki pages so you can study up on this.
