What is your favorite of his?
It still amazes me that he was only 26 when Citizen Kane was released.
The Stranger is a hidden gem.
The Lady from Shanghai, Touch of Evil, The Third Man,..
A child prodigy, genius, and workaholic.

the radio broadcast of the war of the worlds might be the most interesting thing he ever did.

My favorite film of Welles is The Third Man. It's funny. The one thing people remember most about that movie besides the cuckoo clock line is the zither score. However, the score seems really out of place coming how dark and pessimistic the movie is. But it somehow manages to work in the context of the film.

I don't know. Citizen Kane is one of if not THE best
But a radio broadcast that really made people think the Martians were taking over interesting doesn't describe it

His radio work is so good.
One of my favorites and one of his most famous radio performances was an episode of Suspense titled The Hitchhiker
It later became an episode of The Twilight Zone

The Man Who Saw Tomorrow documentary he did about Nostradamus was very interesting.

Had no idea he was Unicron. Was his last performance.

Touch of evil is incredible and IMO his crowning work.

Obviously it's his work on Magnum PI.

Don't forget The Magnificent Ambersons. Even though the studio cut the movie a lot, and changed the ending. The first third is mostly his, and still great.

Funny the topic of Welles should come up. Just today I stumbled on an interview by him discussing his interactions with Ernest Hemingway.
Orson Welles on Hemingway
Pretty cool interview.

Deciding to bump this because I just saw Citizen Kane for the first time yesterday on a plane
Can someone give me a paragraph explanation for why this is the GOAT? I did not read much on it before seeing it, aside from knowing it was one of the best ever. After seeing it, I can tell he emphasized the light/dark stuff a lot, but that can't be all
