Ghost King: The dead do not suffer the living to pass.

Aragorn: You will suffer me.

Pity?! It was pity that stayed Bilbo's hand. Many that live deserve death, some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death and judgement.

that reminds me of the hipster meme

"The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it."

Yeah the books were written in a time when words still mattered.

Theoden: Eomer. Take your Èored down the left flank. Gamling, follow the King's banner down the center. Grimbold, take your company right, after you pass the wall. Forth, and fear no darkness! Arise! Arise, Riders of Theoden! Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered! A sword day... a red day... ere the sun rises! Ride now!... Ride now!... Ride! Ride to ruin and the world's ending! Death! Rohirrim: [echoing] Death! Theoden: Death! Rohirrim: [echoing] Death! DEATH! Forth, Eorlingas!

The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all change to silver glass. White shores... and beyond. The far green country under a swift sunrise.

I will admit that the theater got mighty damned dusty at the Grey Havens and Annie Lennox's "Into The West" didn't help at all.

The rock and pool,
Is nice and cool,
So juicy sweeeeeet
Our only wish
To catch a fish
So juicy sweeeeeet

Cold be heart and hand and bone
Cold be travelers far from home.
They do not see what lies ahead
When sun has failed and moon is dead.

"What is the house of Rohan but a thatched barn where brigands drink in the reek and rats roll on the floor with the dogs? The victory at Helm's Deep does not belong to you, Théoden, horsemaster! You are a lesser son of greater sires."

I can get my two year old to hold a stick or anything resembling a staff and yell,
"You shall not... ... ... PASS!"

I'm a fan of Treebeard 'Do not be hasty, that is my motto'

I'm not sure if that one is in the movies.

"The Battle for Helms Deep is over, the battle for Middle Earth is about to begin."

I think Gandalf has some of the best quotes: "Look to my coming at the dawn of the fifth day; at dawn look to the east."

Epic.

Describing what lead to the story of the Lord of the Rings is one of my favorite movie moments. It was a perfect way to lead me into how incredible of a story I was getting into. I really think it built up the vastness of the story.

Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me! A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields when the age of Men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand! Men of the West!
