I think my favorite characters are Joan and Ken Cosgrove. I actually like Harry Crane too. Michael Ginsberg is also the man.

But everyone is phenomenal.

Ken is just a good dude. And he's actually a huge a-hole early on in the show. He really changes.

Oh no doubt. I'm actually on Season 4 on the rewatch. Let me know where you finish tonight, and I will make sure I keep up.

yeah, slow burn for sure. It took most of S1 to hook me, but it's a great show for sure

See this is why I couldn't get into it. I tried to watch the first couple of episodes and just never had any interest in putting more time into to get that far.

this series was deffinitly not made for my generation

but im a rare breed. i love a good slow paced movie or show.

one of my favorite things about mad men is they dont try to go outside their real world. they dont
make completely outrageous storylines that take you out of reality. There are moments when i think they are about to cross that line but they stay down to earth and let the characters make decisions that people would actually make.

I'm the type of guy who gets bored when movies/shows have too much action. I love great dialogue and relationships. That's what Mad Men gives you.

my friends always give me shite because i dont like the Micheal Bay CGI explosion throwup he puts up on his movies and movies in that same vein. good character development is an art

Roger

Had you seen my post in the fantasy thread?

By the end Sally will be a favorite. Roger is a goddamn baws. Pete makes the most miraculous 180 of any show won't tell you how or even when. Just never connected with Peggy's character.

Mad Men is fantastic. Being just old enough to recall the era that marks where this show will end it fascinates me. It is a slow character study. Throws some curves.

I question whether they accelerate the lesbian story line with Peggy's friend being that open and brash. Gay men appear pretty accurate for early 60's. If you want success keep your mouth shut.

It is a cultural phenomenon. Evrything is a cycle and styles come back around but I do not know that I would know what an old fashioned is, much less be able to make a good one without this show.

There use of music at the end of each episode is perfect.

There are no "holy shite" Breaking Bad moments in this series, but there is some incredible dialogue.

If they do not clean up the Emmys like breaking bad did on their way out then the Emmys are a sham.

i like sally a lot. amazing how much story they can get out of a child like that

i kind of feel bad for the older draper son though. he gets zero attention and is a good kid, i forget he exists sometimes

either i dont feel the same way or it hasnt come, ive been waiting for this but hes still an a-hole

i like her. not near the top of my favorite characters but i dont think the show would be the same without her perspective

The actor for Bobby Draper changes a few times because January Jones is a bitch who kids can't work with.
