I think Rick smiled because he is used to being threatened and isn't scared anymore.

Sees potential.

He smiled because he found his army.

I would imagine we will have to wait and see how the new 24 does before we start wondering when Heath is coming back. Why be an obscure side character when you can be the black Jack Bauer?

It just doesn't fit with Gabriel.

They would have needed some leverage when they were outside the gate to get him to roll over like that. Heath is the only unexplained leverage. This all assumes that without guns, the Alexandrians would have put some extra security efforts in place since they are limited to fighting with knives.

Unless Gabriel somehow knew from the new people that the Saviors were coming for Daryl and he took everything for Alexandria's benefit.

I still say Rick smiled at some hint these people are anti saviors.

5) i went and ran my boat this weekend with 6 month old gas in it, it ran like shite and was full of water. we are now 2 years into the ZA...

I think the Saviors left those cars as herd protection. They probably check them from time to time to ensure they are running.

so Jesus not only knew about the kingdom, and their resources, but also knew that they were dealing with the saviors...and he knew all this back when he brought rick to the hilltop and worked with them to attack the outpost. so how did he not know that was just an outpost and not savior HQ? seems unlikely

Why would he know that it's not just an outpost. As far as we know, all supply runs involve the saviors coming into the other settlements or a meeting in a neutral place. I don't know that Jesus ever knew where the HQ was until he hitched a ride on the truck.

he didnt know where HQ was until the truck ride, but by that time he did know that the outpost wasnt it

my question is how did he not know that the outpost was not HQ? and that it was unlikely that negan would be there? seems like with all that he did know, at minimum, he would have understood the scope of the saviors reach, and been a LOT more cautious about enlisting rick to attack it

how hard would it have been to surveil the outpost for a week or so? or tell rick, "hey man not only do the saviors take half our shite, they also take half the shite from a much larger colony up the road."

Showerthought: where does everybody get clothes and shoes from in the zombie apocalypse? When they go to scavenge there is always nothing left, and all of the walking and shite they do would wear out shoes really quick.

What are the chances you're going to just stumble across like size 8 women's boots or whatever?

If you watch closely there seems to be not one but TWO people's heads that pop up!

The use of cars definitely bothers me a bit. If it ain't diesel, it ain't running. Frankly, nothing is. Not sure why they're straying from the comics there. I guess it makes things more immediate for the show.

They def take liberties w cars and gun shot placement and ammo. but its a TV show so I don't care.

At first watch I did think someone was in the car w Father Gabriel. It will be interesting to see why Rick was smiling.....

Because non-saviors just showed up with a lot of weapons. AKA - more recruits.

Yea, don't get me wrong, virtually every time i see a car I wonder where they're getting gas for it...but if this show were truly realistic like some seem to want or get annoyed by when it's not, it would be a lot less interesting.

You're watching a show about zombies, if you can't suspend disbelief on how cars are running or how a boat is running 2 years later, this show just may not be for you.

Amen. One of the two or three times I had ever commented on this show somebody was a complete dick to me over a comment I made about how the zombies decompose; as if they know how a zombie actually decomposes.
Bottom line, it's a very entertaining show, I don't worry about the little nit-picky stuff - like how Michonne's braids haven't grown out -
LOL.

The thing that gets me with all of these shows.

Clean shaven people. The world has gone to shite, fighting for survival at every turn. I think I'll wake up every morning and get a nice clean shave.

Be right back guys, gotta make a supply run to get razors!
