Without a doubt the worst episode in TWD history. If I had checked in for the first time last night to see what all the rage was about, I would never watch this show again. I knew it would be bad after watching the preview of the hobble dialogue in the RV with Heath. Tara is just a terrible actress, and the script did not help her out at all.

The only redeeming factor was Tara's TaTas flopping all around uncontrollably. Didn't realize they were so big.

She put on 30 lbs during her pregnancy; 10 lbs to her thighs and 20 lbs to her boobs.

negans management style is so inconsistent that it lessens his impact as a boogieman...
1) oceanside, kill all the men then put the women to work
2) hilltop & alexandria, kill one or two, then wage psychological war while doing home invasions
3) kingdom, negotiate a pact wherein the community provides without knowing it, and is left unscathed at home
either really poor writing or negan is a true renaissance man

In terms of time - this season is going to advance the story about 2 weeks, right?

Apparently Oceanside tried to engage in a war with Negan and his forces, so Negan killed all the fighting-aged individuals.

I think the Alexandria group got a pass because they had never dealt with Negan's group previously. Hilltop is getting a "pass" because they can't be 100% sure of their involvement. Plus, if you think about it, Negan's group is pretty screwed if they take out all of the other communities.

It seems like this is the same deal they had going on with the Hilltop.

I wasn't able to watch last night, so I'll be watching tonight then reading this entire thread tomorrow and flooding it with responses to random posts.

1. Looks like Oceanside tried to go to war with the Saviors and lost
3. Seems like Ezekiel was able to work out a deal where most of his group has no idea about the Saviors. Also Kingdom is larger then the others

I feel like the writers are overreaching their skill set a lot of times with this show. Like for example, someone nailed it in the first episode when they drug out who Negan was gonna kill...we had lost the emotional attachment to the characters due to the show being on hiatus for like 8 months. Had Abe gotten the beatdown in the finale, we would've cared more. But because it had been so long, it was detached a bit because we hadn't seen these people in months and months.
Same thing last night with Tara and her doctor girlfriend. I forgot the doc even died until last night when they showed Tara show back up at Alexandria and see Eugene all busted up and in tears and she had the little doc bobblehead. So that wasn't the "Awwww, so sad.." moment they wanted it to be with me. It didn't resonate because it's been a while since the doc died and I forgot all about her and Tara's budding relationship.
I feel like the writers rely greatly on two things: buildups and cliffhangers. And unfortunately you can't really have both consistently, or you fail at connecting with your audience. Perfect example is the "who did Negan kill" thing. All that buildup, but then instead of showing us Abe in the finale and then shocking everybody with Glenn this season, they showed us nobody and then we lost the connection to the characters. So Abe was like "damn," and Glenn wasn't as resonating as it could have been.
I don't know if I am explaining that the way it sounds in my head or if I did a shitty job.

Anyone else think the dead people covered by dirt on the bridge were Negan victims, possibly some of the Oceanside group that got lined up and shot?

or an even better theory...some of the men rick killed at the saviors outpost were former oceanside men kidnapped/dragooned by negan

Yea definitely not my fave episode, but my next door neighbor was in a majority of it. She was "kathy", one of the two ladies by the side of their leader. I thought she did really well, but the episode was kind of weak.

The only point to this episode was to give the writers an out for them letting Negan take all of Alexandria's guns. Seeing that shed stocked full with assault rifles wasn't a coincidence. They'll have an episode where Tara is conflicted about telling everyone about the place, even though she knows they need the guns. But in the end, Rick and co. will end up getting their guns at some point when Rick finally takes all the crap he can from the Saviors, and he finally decides to fight back.

Didn't think about it at the time, but that's pretty spot on.

Just watched last nights episode.
Sucked, just like every other one this year outside the season premier.
A village of ugly lesbians...ya!

I noticed her great rack the first time she was on the show.
