I know I'm in the minority but I tried to watch it once and got so tired of it. I ended up turning it off.

Reading Homer's Odyssey will make you like O Brother even more, the movie is loosely based on the story. The livestock quote reminded me of it, in the Odyssey the crew slaughters Apollo's cattle and they get in trouble. Just one example, there are several.

Nice, I love modern adaptations of old stories. There's a good movie called Scotland, PA that is set in the disco era but it's based on Macbeth. Thought about starting a thread on it but I'm a Movie Board noob.

Yep. It is pretty remarkable the depth the movie has.
