On FX now. I know some people, especially some Bible thumpers hated this movie, but to me it was very intriguing film. The final act is a bit all over the place but I liked it nonetheless. I love pre-deluvian Old Testament Mysticism though.

It's one of the best unintentional comedies of all time. The rock monsters, Noah's multiple psychoses, the acting, the random vegetarian preachiness, the editing, everything. It's a fricking terrible film.

I could rant about this film for hours. It's on my list of top ten worst big-budget films ever.

hated this movie

it was an interesting take on a part of history that rarely makes it to the big screen

even hardcore bible thumpers should be able to appreciate its take on the subject matter

Twister plus Bible = 2012 sans Mayans.

All Bible stuff aside, it's just a bad movie.

I don't know if I liked it but I didn't hate it If it stuck solely to the Bible it would be short and boring since we already know the story.

Emma Watson was pretty in it. That's about all the good I can say.

ETA: Creation scene is dope.

I don't like it. It's just kind of a nothing movie.

Yeah. Despite rock monsters and the heavy criticism it still hasn't stuck in my mind much.

I love almost every movie Russell Crowe is in, but I absolutely despised this one. Everything about this movie was fricking atrocious.

It has nothing to say and all the actors seem like they don't know what they're doing or why they're there. All it really does is reinforce that god is a psychotic a-hole who'll drown women and kill babies cause reasons.

Why not just say "Christians" instead of trying to be demeaning?

Because not all Christians had a problem with the movie. I'm Christian and throughly enjoyed Aronofsky's take on the story, thought it took a lot from the banned/lost Book of Enoch.

Many Bible thumpers aka certain Protestant faiths/followers took great offense to the movie because they believed it did not follow their strict interpretation of the biblical story.

Which would have made for very short movie with no drama and a story we all already knew.

Much like everything else in the Bible, it's a plagerized story from ancient Mesopotamia. I feel sorry for the children who had parents arguing over the historical accuracy of a myth.

If humanity has to start from scratch a few thousand years from now, I wonder what kind of shite they'll dig up and start to grovel to?

Because all (most) Christians aren't Bible thumpers. It is the Bible thumper theocrats who get "offended" by stuff like that.

It's a shite movie.

It's terrible no matter how you look at it, unless you're looking for a terrible movie to enjoy on a clinical level.
