This time it's produced by BBC, not The History Channel.
I'm watching the 1st episode right now (dvr'd it) and it's decent. I like the presenters but they definitely need time to mesh.
This first show included a 212 mile Baja-like trip from Mexico, across the border to the US in VW Beetle buggies and tests of the new Acura NSX and Ford Raptor.
The lead presenter is actor Bill Fichtner of Armageddon, Blades of Glory and The Dark Knight fame.
Second presenter is 3-time NHRA Top Fuel Dragster Champion Antron Brown.
And lastly the 3rd presenter is British Auto Journalist and TV Presenter Tom "Wookie" Ford.

Haha the Grand Tour did a similar trip with custom VW buggies through Namibia.
I like the idea of an American centered Top Gear. Will watch.

They already did one and it didn't do so well.
Genuinely hope this one does better.

Those guys are Top Gear America(US).
History Channel.
This is the Original BBC Top Gear.
After last season, they have replaced all of the presenters. Only good one, Matt LeBlanc is out.

Nope... That show on history was Top Gear US. With that comedian, Rutledge and the drift car driver. It's been off air for a year now.
The ORIGINAL Top Gear that Clarkson, May and Hammond were fired from still exists as a UK based show. I'm not sure who the presenters are but yes Matt LeBlanc was one of them when it resumed after the original 3 left.
This new one is a spin off show, airing on the BBC Channel but based in the US.
Per their wiki:
quote:
A previous American version of Top Gear was broadcast on the History Channel from November 2010 until June 2016.[2] Following a second, more successful revamp of the UK version in 2017, BBC America announced that Top Gear would return to the United States in late 2017 as a new show, now titled Top Gear America, to be hosted by actor William Fichtner.[3] Later that month, it was confirmed that British journalist and television host Tom Ford and American drag racer Antron Brown would be Fichtner's co-hosts.[4]

Oh, I've seen it. And I'm glued to Amazon Prime when the new shows premier. Those 3 guys are simply the best.
