New Doctor Who companion. Underwhelming

Very meh. Seems to be trying too hard to be cute and witty. Two minute clip feels forced. I was really high on capaldi but I don't know about the future. Hoping this is his last season.
I wish BBC would throw a ton of money and get Matt Smith to come back.

They gave Matt Smith more interesting storylines, but Tennant was by far the better Doctor.

they need to focus more on monsters and less on overly complicated storylines that center more on the companion than the doctor

Going from Jenna Louise Coleman to that person is definitely a downgrade though.

Capaldi has been great. He may be the best Doctor ever. Some of the scripts have sucked.
Hard to get a feel for the new companion. I'm tired of companions being young women from contemporary Earth. Someone from the past or future would be good, or a male companion who was a likable rogue. About the only good thing is that she's not white.

ETA: For long time fans, going from Jenna Coleman to anyone else was going to be a downgrade. She had become a fixture. The only companion I didn't mind leaving was Rose Tyler.

Tons of hate in this thread. Rose and Clara were great companions. Capaldi, Tenant, and Smith were all superb, but for different reasons.
I am highly skeptical of the new companion, but the show runners haven't really made a bad decision yet. I'll give them my support until I'm shown otherwise.
