Chris Terrio wrote this film.

I'm sure the screenwriter with almost no credits to his name had a blank check to do whatever he wanted with no studio interference. This is clearly Snyder's baby, he is the most powerful voice in shaping the DC film universe.

Snyder can still film an action sequence, so that's good to know
I never say this, but the action scenes are the most important part of this movie to me. I will forgive A LOT if I get to see some breathtaking fights with Batman and Superman and Superman and Doomsday, and I think it will deliver. I've been waiting for those scenes my entire life.

That doesn't mean that I don't want a good story as well. My hope is that Terio was able to clean up some of Goyer's garbage and Geoff Johns will be a big influence in future movies. Tell Goyer to step away from the pen for fricks sake.

Also, stop trying to experiment with the characters. Don't give us an unconventional Lex. Give us the Lex that we want. Make Superman more of a boyscout at times. (which I hear they are).

See, I think they have Snyder by the balls. Man of Steel was not the great movie everyone was hoping for. If this movie doesn't deliver, look for a change in the future of DC.

The comics always had a way of allowing certain characters to overcome immense odds - even in the face of what would normally be an undefeatable foe. Batman is just one of many in this particular case...

I think that's fair. This movie is being made to appeal to that specific kind of fan. I'm just not that sort of fan (for example, I found the Hulkbuster Iron Man suit to be perhaps the LEAST interesting thing about the Avengers... though I know many people were geeked up for that).

I think this movie is going to have a perfunctory plot designed to move characters from action set piece to action set piece. And, in its defense, those action set pieces, if this trailer is any indication, will be f'n awesome. But if you care about the downtime between fights, well... there better be a lot more Jeremy Irons being cool as hell.

I don't think this movie will be bad, but it's certainly not being made to appeal to me. And I still think DC's biggest problem is that they are ashamed of Superman, which is stupid. He's not edgy, he's the best of us. He's an ideal to aspire to, stop being afraid of his inherent goodness. If they do the same thing with Wonder Woman, I'm gonna f'n snap.

Unless I missed something, I saw exactly nothing that indicated Bizzaro Superman to be in the movie.

They already did Bizarro Superman in Man of Steel.

That sparks a good question: Would you take Superman's powers but you would have to sport a micropenis?

I would rather choose to be Mr. Fantastic if that was the case.

Superman just feels dated. A boyscout with every super power.....cool. Who needs the JL? You are the JL.

My mother in law even said "Batman and Superman should not be fighting. They should be on the same team." I then tried to explain to her that they team up later in the movie. Her response was "then why are they calling it Batman vs Superman?"

That statement right there is said by the majority of people, including myself. No one wants to watch a movie where they think the whole movie is about Batman fighting against Superman. You have to remember that the majority of people in this country are idiots. They will see the title and say "i'm not going watch Superman kill Batman"

It's just a really stupid name for a movie.
It's like telling Marvel fans, "hey, we are going to make a movie with Spider-man and Captain America, our two most popular characters in our universe, since we just got a hold of the rights to Spider-man, and we'll call the movie, Spider-man Vs Captain America, and then we'll follow it up with Wolverine vs Iron Man"
Or we could make the Avengers and follow it up with a sequel and make over $3 billion between them.
Marvel took Captain America and they've made him the most popular super hero currently, and it seems DC is trying to make us not like Superman.

This is the main reason some people (comic and non comic fans) don't like him. It's kind of lame if they aren't many people/things in the universe that can even truly challenge him.

That is why he requires the suspension of disbelief that Batman could take him.

He has to have a balance.

The need to give the perfect hero a weakness requires building up the weakest hero to his level.

He's been in print for almost 80 years. Literally thousands of Superman stories have been published. Movies, animated series, and TV series (including the longest running Sci-Fi series in history). The problem isn't the character of Superman.

And whenever they "de-power" or change his powers... THAT'S when he sucks.

I can't disagree with that. Maybe the studio is saying "frick the average movie goer". That's not a very good idea, IMO. There has been talk for years about a Batman vs Superman movie. The fans have wanted one for awhile. But the average movie goer is like "What the frick is this?" Like I said, if it's a good movie, it won't matter. The characters are very well known. It would just go down as a really good movie with a bad title. Which is what I think a lot of people said when the title was released. Maybe they should have just gone with a Batman /Superman title or a Batman and Superman: Dawn of Justice (as in Dawn of the Justice League). The animated movies have done this with some success. It may have been a better idea than trying to sell this Batman vs Superman heavyweight bout. You can still have the fight, just don't sell it as the entire movie.

"If there is even a 1% chance he is our enemy we have to treat it as an absolute certainty"

This is such a freaking stupid thought process Bruce.
