I've got that one in queue somewhere. Good to hear it's worthwhile.

It is. A bit cliched at times...but good.

Foreign: Gomorrah (2008) was pretty good. It's about the Neapolitan mob. Gritty.

Watched Big Night and Croupier yesterday, will definitely second those, especially the former.

Love Big Night. The only food-centric movie that's as good is Eat Drink Man Woman.

Newly available, per instanwatcher.com, is:

I'm Still Here - the documentary done by Casey Affleck about just how weird Joaquin Phoenix got.

Long Kiss Goodnight - 90's action flick with Geena Davis & Samuel L Jackson.

A Prophet - Really well reviewed foreign prison flick. Found it good but a little slow to get through.

To reiterate a couple of lesser known foreign gems for the WWII buffs: Sophie Scholl & Katyn. Both excellent.

Watched 'Sweet Land' again. Totally great flick in the romance category.

Watched The Messenger last night. Great movie.

Was totally blown away by how good this was, I didn't even notice it was Ben Foster until about 10 minutes in. And Woody is always great, did not think he could pull it off going into the movie.

I'd like to recommend Transeiberian, it's very suspenseful. It stars Woody Harrelson and Emily Mortimer, watched it a few nights before The Messenger, lots of twists and deception...

Yeah, he probably watched it on Showtime streaming and mixed it up. Good movie, though.

Watched I'm Still Here.

I know it's on the list, but I just wanted to add my 2 cents.

If you don't know all the details, I suggest watching and reading up later.

Semi-SPOILERS

Very well made. I watched it without realizing the whole thing was a sham. I know, I know, what was I born in 1958?

If you go into without knowing that, it's pretty believable at points. Other times, it's absolutely ridiculous (well really, Phoenix is absolutely ridiculous the whole time). It goes pretty dark... and it actually was physically uncomfortable to watch (especially if you've battled demons of any sort).

Overall, I came away very impressed with Affleck as a film maker and Phoenix as an actor (this was his best job yet IMO).
