I could not stand the main character. Disrespectful to her mom.
That's because the movie cut out the entire back story laid out in the books.
But it's not a bad movie. The book is actually a solid quick read.

Dumb and Dumber 2
There are actually a few legitimately hilarious scenes in that movie.
It has a rough start but when you settle into the characters and get over your expectations it's funny. I think they should've reshot the opening scenes. It feels like they sort of filmed the movie in order and Carry and Daniels really got back into character about 15 mins in after they set the movie up and they start their trip.
The scene when you meet Harrys parents is absolutely a riot.

fricking terrible. My daughter loves it, though, so I get stuck watching it from time to time. You also have to humor them about liking it. Ahh, parenthood.

Master and Commander. That movie was awful.

I will second Gangs of New York. Absolutely terrible movie that I ended up re watching later with friends. I'm not sure why it is well-liked by many.
Daniel Day-Lewis tried his best to carry that movie, but I just couldn't get past the wankery of it all. It just tried way too hard. The best part of that movie was the Anchorman 2 scene.
