Goodfellas. I recently rewatched the movie again in a movie theater and it dawned on me why some people prefer Goodfellas to The Godfather. It's a lot easier to relate to characters like Henry and Karen Hill than the Corleone family. Plus the movie seems a lot more vibrant and modern due to the time period and the way the soundtrack flows perfectly with the movie. Goodfellas pulsates with energy from beginning to end. Personally I prefer Godfathers I and II because but it's very easy to understand why others like Goodfellas more.

Groundhog Day
My Cousin Vinny

I didn't think I would like either movie but both are not only great but incredibly enjoyable with repeated viewings.

Brian: Who cured you?

Ex-Leper: Jesus did, sir. I was hopping along, minding my own business, all of a sudden, up he comes, cures me! One minute I'm a leper with a trade, next minute my livelihood's gone. Not so much as a by-your-leave! "You're cured, mate." Bloody do-gooder.

This and Shawshank...

Are the #1 obvious choices - add in Caddyshack, etc.

Dark Horse...Ronin. This might not make much sense but that movie just has a total 80's Saturday afternoon feel. Even though it's not an 80's movie.

It's a comforting movie...and it entertains no matter how many times you see it.
