Frailty is a good one but I don’t think it was filmed in Texas but it’s about a killer in Texas.

Necessary Roughness is one that I can’t believe hasn’t been mentioned a few times yet.

The original Robocop fictionally took place in Old Detroit, but was filmed in Dallas. Landmarks are very recognizable if you’re familiar with the city and it’s suburbs.

Watched this on Pluto recently and was surprised Texas State played Southwest Texas State which became Texas State.

I guess it had been so long since I’d seen it that it didn’t register.

Has Texas Killing Fields (2011) been mentioned?

One scary white boy!

In The Magnificent Seven, the Mexican villagers came into Texas to find gunfighters. Yul Brenner & Steve McQueen drove the hearse through a town in Texas. I think "interviews" in the bar were in Texas too.

The undisputed iconic Texas movie has to be
Hud

"Giant", with Rock Hudson, James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor. It is an epic from 1956 about a rancher and his family, with James Dean as his nemesis, Jett Rink.
Only Dean comes close to any sort of Texas vibe

Liz and Rock might as well be playing Nicholas and Alexandra
