Including Sith.

Feel free to define various measures of said power.

Oh frick.

The answer is Luke Skywalker, but the movie purists will have differing answers.

I am the first in this thread.

I am going to have to go with Yoda in his prime, which is not in the movies.

Of the movies I have to say Darth Sidius. He ruled the galaxy at one point in time.

These threads are fun. Prepare for lots of Wookiepedia citations.

Raw power maybe.

He was hampered by arrogance and all the other vices the Jedi frown upon.

Yoda wins in my book...high raw ability enhanced with the right training, mindset, and temperament.

Although I am sure there is some Sith outside of the movies that trumps even him. (Sith aren't bound like Jedi are in terms of "power")

I always hated the idea of Yoda being all-powerful. I always thought "those who can't 'do' teach" when thinking of Yoda as a Jedi Master. I wasn't too thrilled to see him fight in the prequels.

I thought Yoda was a warrior back in the day.

The literature on the Yuuzhan Vong War supports Luke Skywalker.

Do you mean in Yoda's case specifically or in general? Because teaching an apprentice or apprentices is required to reach Master status.

I always thought it was lame that Lucas made Sidious and Yoda duke it out with lightsabers in the prequels.

Some statements in the original trilogy would have you believe that if you were strong enough in the force then a lightsaber is nothing more than a silly toy. Having CGI Yoda jumping around like a goddamn cartoon character sort of negates that whole notion IMO.

I actually like the thought of him being all powerful, but I hate the thought of him jumping around with a fricking lightsaber. It is stupid and ridiculous. Yoda should be beyond that. If anyone goes after him, he should be able to make their heads explode. Yoda killing someone with lightsaber should be like trying to kill a man with a club. Surely we should be beyond that.

Yoda specifically. I got the THX remastered SW VHS trilogy for my bday shortly after it was released. I was never big into the movies before then, so I took these movies to be the SW gospel. I don't like the new 'special edition/greedo shoots first/CGI trilogy' for example because it goes against my 'learning' of the SW universe. So, when I see footage of a CG Yoda flipping around and fighting w/ a miniature lightsaber in the prequels, I find that it goes against my grain. I may be narrow-minded in my judgment, but that's just my opinion.

that was ep 2.

I was thinking of ep 3 when Yoda and Sidious were fighting, but it was also just a general statement about Yoda in general. So that would also include the Dooku fight as well.

then again, i haven't watched the prequels in a while so I could be remembering something wrong.

In terms of Force ability, I would say Yoda easily. Mace Windu was probably the best swordsman. Dooku in his prime was also excellent

Overall though, I'd probably go with Anakin or Obi-Wan
