I could say the Star Wars prequels but I wasn't sure they were going to be good.
Godfather II is my vote. It is a movie with some great parts but as a whole it sold its creative soul in response to the criticism the first Godfather received - and in so doing was incredibly disappointing.

Phantom Menace
Indy 4 but I tempered my hopes when I saw Shia was cast
The biggest for me was the new Robin Hood. I was dying to see a live action Robin Hood that really worked plus another Ridley Scott/Russell Crowe duo was bound to be awesome right? Wrong just an average movie that was watchable had one ore two cool scenes and that was it.
That kept me from really get my hope ups that hgh for any movie. It makes my viewing experience a lot better tbh, I was disappointed with Prometheus or the Hobbit even though I probably would be if I had gotten as emotionally invested as I used to.

The Phantom Menace. 16 years for THAT?! The signs were there in RotJ with all the kiddy stuff, but still...

Indiana Jones 4 is one of the worst movies of all time but my expectations weren't that high. Robin Hood was not as good as it should've been but wasn't terrible either.

ANGRY disappointed.
T3 was lousy, too.

Ghostbusters 2
It doesn't get more disappointing than having the gang hitch a ride with Lady Liberty.

You are like the buzzing of flies to them.
The only one I can think of that hasn't been previously named was Napoleon Dynamite. My wife, parents, siblings, and some friends talked about how funny it was. I watched about 40 minutes of it.

Ray hangs his head in shame when confronted by Peter about fricking the pink goo.
I reiterate: Ray Stantz stuck his dick into a beaker of pink goo to scientifically test effects of love on the goo.
Who the frick wrote that into the script?
I find that there are two people in the world:
1) People that saw Napoleon D. without having heard a thing about it. He laughs hysterically until he pukes a little.
2) This guy has put off renting Napoleon D. for months now (nobody actually went see this movie in the theaters). In this amount of time every single one of his male friends have recited every single line from the show adnauseam. Guy rents Napolean D, get's sick at the hype this movie got, and pukes a little.

I'm on group 2. When I finally did get around to watching napoleon dynamite, I laughed one time when he does his dance routine at the end of the movie. When it was finally over, I was legitimately angry for having sat thru the whole thing waiting for it to get as funny as I was told it was.

Luckily none of my friends saw ND before I did so I was a blank slate going into it. It did confuse me though. I didn't know if it was the 80s; if I should be happy for Napoleon or pity him. I didn't even understand the jokes.
It truly was one of those movies that took me 2 or 3 times seeing it for me to laugh my arse off.

I was baked when I watched NP and it still wasn't that funny. The only time j laughed out loud was when that horse or cow was shot in front the school bus full of kids. It felt like it was always on the cusp of hilarity but never got there. All set up and no punch line.

I was 10 when the The Phantom Menace came out. I love that movie and never understood the hate for it.
