Anybody ever see this? It's not only the best Genghis Khan movie ever made, and by a wide wide margin… but one of the best movies of the last decade.

They were supposed to make 2 more and tell the full story of Khan but I don't think it ever happened.

I saw it and loved it. A bit disjointed, but the story of Temujin is fascinating to me and always has been.

Yep, huge fan of this movie, I own it on blu-Ray. Really wish they would have finished the supposed trilogy.

Actually saw it when it was playing in theaters and it looked great on the big screen. Liked the traditional Mongolian throat singing too.

I couldn't get over how good the movie was with probably a very small budget. It just felt like a big time production, which is very hard to pull off.

Stumbled upon this while teaching about the Mongols last year. Even all my students loved it.

I watched this whole movie on youtube and it was a bit dragging but the story and everything else were amazing and am still waiting on sequel myself. I used Marco Polo as somewhat of a sequel but that show is on an entirely different realm as the mongol movie. Still though pretty close. And I didn't figure out that Kublai was the guy from the move called the Martian with Matt Damon

Benedict Wong is the man!!!

I doubt its streaming on any big service, it was a pretty under the radar movie, (foreign, subtiles too) but you can rent basically anything from Amazon or Google movies.

I bought this movie a while ago but have yet to watch it. Might do that this weekend.

The problem with movies about Genghis Khan is how to deal with his utter brutality. Literally millions of innocent men, women and children put to death on his orders. Propping him up as some sort of hero seems ludicrous.

It is on youtube. The whole thing for free, apparently. LINK

I had wondered whatever happened to the sequels.

Watched it in my AP world history class back in high school. Loved it and have always wanted to watch it again but have never gotten around to it. I wish they made the trilogy.
