Lost by a long shot!!! Best show on TV in the last 14 years.
I thought Bates Motel was garbage and couldn't get past the 3rd episode.
I thought the Following was bad, poorly written. Story just didn't flow well.
HoC is supurb, I'm on season two, episode 5 or 6 right now.
Have not seen Mad Men.
Others you didn't mention, but if you haven't seen them, they are better than the Following and Bates Motel:
Orange is the New Black
The Walking Dead (maybe the best show on TV right now).

The last season of lost was awful. I watched real time. If I could go back I would have never started watching.

Did you actually watch the show? I don't know anyone who has ever said that. It's not like Dexter where I could see people actually having that mindset. The last 15 minutes of LOST was just perfection. I don't see how anyone could turn off the TV after the final episode ended and think "man, I wish I had never started this shite. This sucked"

While Mad Men and House of Cards are definitely the better shows, I found my viewing of Lost to be much more enjoyable.

Agree. IMHO "The End" was the best finale of any TV series and the ride was wonderful as well.

I have many problems with the final season but I don't regret watching it. The first two seasons sucked me in like no series has.

Watching Lost now, I'm at the halfway point. It's a fun ride. I can't wait to see where it goes from here.
Mad Men is great. There's A LOT to it and you won't get bored. But, it couldn't be more different than Lost. It's still currently running, as a new season comes out fairly soon.
I haven't seen any of the others, but plan to start House of Cards pretty soon.

I would put West Wing over Lost as the best show over the other listed.
With Lost it think it was one of the best shows that made mistakes. I have a love hate relationship with this series, the on Island stuff I can't get enough of, but I HATE the flashback length. That said I have watched it twice all the way through.
