I'm 10 episodes in. Mother of god. I can't stand the BLM movement bull shite. I give this show a -10000000/10. So fricking bad. And I'm a huge super hero fan.

Anybody else disagree?

I liked Cottonmouth as a villain. His sister was good too. Diamondback sucked.

His character in this show is so boring. He is a complete embarrassment to Luke cage and marvel. This show also = black people vs evil devil white cops. No thanks.

ITs pretty hokey at times

and there is a distinct lack of action to it.

The villains aren't great.

I don't like that one dude who looks like Travin Dural.

Of course posters of TD do not like the show...but I agree. Wanted to like it but it simply was not good, not well acted or well made IMHO.

It's heavy handed and tries to get polarizing points across by shouting in your face, rather than doing it organically. I feel like it tries so hard and fails to accomplish what a show like Atlanta accomplishes without even having to try. Atlanta connected viewers to urban culture in Atlanta by just being smart and plain cool, Luke Cake couldn't get out of it's own way.

I've never seen a super hero movie , not my thing , but I did watch Luke Cage and enjoyed it. I have listened to all the super hero movies as background noise as I have an 18 year old son but could never get into any of them. He loved them as a kid though. Thankfully he's out of the stage and now is off to college on a full ride baseball scholarship and enjoying Greek life. 2 things I never got to expirence. So maybe growing up watching super hero movies is a good thing for a kid. I was 100% sports growing up. He loved sports but had other interests as well and I think it served him well hence the reason I have started to watch the stuff he likes. I can't lie , I've enjoyed most things he has turned me on to except the video games. Just can't get in to them.

I watched about four episodes, got busy with other things, and totally forgot about the show until this thread reminded me. So I guess that says something about how much I like it.

Cage himself is boring. He's practically like Superman but doesn't just bust arse enough. And wtf is up with the little Shades guy? Maybe more about him is revealed if I keep watching.

And I don't miss the hokey barber at all, with his Switzerland shop and parleying for his favorite thug.

I just haven't had any interest in it because I found him very boring in Jessica Jones. He was one of the worst parts in an otherwise excellent show.

these shows are made for 30 year old men who want to relive their youth, not kids

I actually thought Luke Cage was better than Jessica Jones.

And Mahersala Ali has been great in everything he's in. One of my favorite actors at the moment.

What BLM? The series was preachy, but it was mostly a bunch of old black people talking down to the younger black generation.

I started out liking it, but by episode 6 I stopped watching it. It's extremely well done. Really well acted. And shot beautifully, but Luke Cage is just a boring superhero. And the actor who plays him is very dull.

I'm fairly politically inclined and didn't see BLM in this. All but one of the villains of the story are black and it takes place in a black neighborhood.

I liked how they adapted the Serpent Society to the MCU but found Diamondback's outfit a little cheesy.

There are legit reasons some people haven't liked it, but don't pass because of what the OP posted. People were worried it would be "typical liberal Hollywood" when they said the series would be socially conscious but it wasn't. The show was written, produced and acted by a bunch of middle aged black people that had some Get Off My Lawn moments aimed at the younger black generation over things like using the N word. That's what they meant by socially conscious.
