Why do you think Warner Bros. has allowed the Looney Toons IP to languish? Those characters were a big part of my childhood, but they have basically been allowed to vanish over the past decade or so. Strange they would abandon such a valuable property, especially when Disney has been so successful at keeping their iconic characters fresh and relevant.

They had a great run with animaniacs and tiny toons but that was like 25 years ago.

You're right they have been largely ignored.

Cartoon Network has produced some Looney Tunes shows recently. The Looney Toons Show was great, but I'm not a big fan of Wabbit.

CN has also done a great version of Tom and Jerry. The Tom and Jerry Show is probably the best version of the characters since the '60s.

It helps when there's a Disneyland and Disney world which the characters live through. There's no such thing for bugs bunny and friends.

In the 90's they partnered with Six Flags to try and close that gap. It didn't really work, but at least they were trying. Even a decade ago you'd still see Tweety Bird and the Tasmanian Devil licensed all over the place on clothes and coffee mugs and the like. Now they're just... gone.

Thankfully Boomerang airs the old Looney Toons so my nieces and nephews can watch them. Without Boomerang I don't know if they'd know who Bugs Bunny is

That's my suspicion as well, but then Disney has managed to update their original cast while staying true to the core characters, and theirs were even worse than Looney Toons. Bugs Bunny and pals were just violent and casually racist. There is a comic of Donald Duck as a fricking Nazi, for God's sake. And yet he is still immensely popular, while Bugs Bunny has disappeared.

Maybe the new Space Jam movie will resurrect them.

I'm sure the PCpolice have got their creative team handcuffed in a corner. By today's standards, it's a cast of trigger warning characters

which is likely buried with the Atari E.T. games. Disney has all but wiped that from their library

The Looney Toons Show was great,
TLTS was a brilliant concept, generally well-executed: take the beloved core characters, with their well-defined comic personalities, update them with a couple of modern quirks, and put them in a garden-variety sitcom. Highly recommended for fans of classic WB animation.

Cut the cord awhile back so I haven't seen Wabbit. I know it's got most of the voice talent from TLTS but I don't particularly care for the 'new' character renderings.

Classic Bugs

You do realize it was an anti-Nazi propaganda cartoon, right?

As an 80s kid, you either loved either Disney or WB/Looney Tunes cartoon characters. Disney was the Beetles and Looney Tunes are the Stones.....I hate the Beetles.

Nothing was better than smartass, un-PC, Mel Blanc voiced Looney Tunes cartoons.

Although Bugs is awesome... Foghorn Leghorn is the best.

I literally purchased 30 hours worth of classic Looney toons last week. 5 and 3 year old been watching them a good bit. 3 year old calls everyone a dummy now. 5 year old starts every sentence with "I say I say". It did get them to start eating carrots.

Watched space jam on Friday. 5 year old made me put my Jordan free throw dunk poster over his bed after it.

It was a good week.

They been watching Tom and Jerry for months.

I'd rather my kids call people stupid and fat, then learn about the lgbtq community.

After recently catching some shows i feel like this as well. But, they seem to age well and were just as good as I remember as a kid.

Yep. I saw a few episodes. Premise seems to be a sitcom where they're all retired actors. Not as good as the original but Lola is a great character.

Anyone remember the LT Upper Deck trading cards in the early 90s? Even then, industry used what product was hot to sell LT. What tangible product could they use today to market it?

T&J is Hanna Barbarra I thought?

Six flags is the Looney Tunes park, or it used to be when Six flags was huge.
