I enjoyed the first 75% of season 1. I thought they did an alright job of showing both perspectives of the #metoo issues. But they went full woke in the finale which was disappointing because the issue isn't nearly as cut and dry as they made it seem. Did anyone watch Season 2? Did it pick up from the end of Season 2 or was it more balanced perspectives on the complex issues we are facing.

I have no idea what show you are talking about, but it’s a very safe bet the wokeness increases. I’ve never seen a show where, once it is introduced, it decreases.

I guess the question is, did they really go “full woke” or are you just interpreting it that way?

I’d have to watch the show to have an opinion and I’m afraid I’m not familiar with the “Morning Show” that you are referring to

One “average white man is so terrible” scene was so over the top that one would assume no one could take it seriously.

But I’m sure it received a standing ovation by many.

It wasn’t just a wile mess.

The self aggrandizement was turned up to 11.

It was weird how they portrayed themselves as some all important estate, that the masses depend on

Geez Louise... are y'all really that dense?

This show was the most masterful skewering of uber-woke cancel culture that has been produced to date. ESPECIALLY Season 2. Not only does it show that there's a whole lot of grey area (not everything is black & white when it comes to so-called "villains"), but they do a pretty damn good job of making the hyper-offended look like the attention-seeking morons that they are. See the scene outside of the gelato shop as the best example.

Mrs TTown (no pics) and I couldn't finish season 2. Not because of wokeness, but because it was shitty television.

We enjoyed season 1.

I agree with this. This show walks the line well between woke and making fun of woke. It pokes fun at how hypocritical wokesters can be when the rubber hits the rode.

Oh and, hell of a first post, baw!

I watched both seasons. It's as woke as you would expect. But honestly, it's a guilty pleasure watch for me. I enjoyed the show and thought the first season play off of the Matt Laur controversy was really done well. I thought it was some of Steve Carrell's best work. I also like Billy Crudup in it. Reese is Reese, Aniston is Aniston. I thought it was really funny how much back stabbing goes on behind the scenes of these network morning and daytime shows.

It’s safe to say that season 3 of The Morning Show is a bonkers rollercoaster ride of high-octane drama and juicy scandals (as outrageous and unrealistic as it may be), but it’s hard to deny how insanely entertaining it’s been so far. By basically side-lining the pressure of weighing in on hot-button topics and real-life cultural issues (which clearly wasn’t its strong suit in season 2), the series had let itself spiral into a messy yet incredibly amusing plot of events. And if you’re someone who’s fascinated by car crashes and disastrous accidents, I guarantee you won’t be able to look away from this one — especially when all the wild moves are delivered by such a superb and talented cast as this show has.

If this is correct it seems like they put the wokeness to the side.

If you’ve been watching The Morning Show in the past two months, you already know that season 3 is a trip. But if you haven’t, you might want to start. Although the series began four years ago as a sort of prestige drama, attempting to tackle serious issues like the #MeToo movement and cancel culture, by season number three, it’s pretty much left those ambitions behind to embrace its soapy and sensational nature for maximum effect.

I suppose it reflects the bubble it portrays. It has one conservative character, everyone else pushes the agendas you’d expect from people in New York. Basically pushes an NBC view of the world rather than a Fox view of the world.

This season has but a hot mess but in a fun kind of way that's basically turned it into a soap opera. About 5 different things hit the fan in the last 5 minutes of yesterday's episode.

We stopped after the Covid and Jan 6 episode in season 3. I was annoyed well before that but that put me over the top. I was laughing out loud at the covid shite.

Ol baw sick of being stuck in the apartment with his woke girlfriend goes out to the bars and gets drunk. When he comes back she goes ballistic, immediately puts on a mask and storms out lmao

My wife and I normally look past of that but S3 has taken the cake

Every episode is about white man is evil, blacks aren’t paid enough, and they keep mentioning the border crisis and how Texas kills babies. They did a whole episode of Roe v Wade being overturned and they were all crying and wanting to be alone and how the world is ending and the GOP is evil.

It’s so over the top

Seen this description more often of stuff accused of "woke". So have we moved from "It's not happening, you're just a snowflake!" to "It's intelligent parody you're too dumb to understand!" ?
