Let's talk about GLEE (spoilers only halfway through S1)

I like a good comedy/drama so I decided to start housing GLEE with my roomie. We were told to STOP after season 2 because it gets far too gay. So far we're halfway through season 1 and honestly, it's not bad. Some thoughts:
-I like Finn. Good, wholesome guy with a pure heart.
-I hate puck. Not genuine at all, real creep.
-Quinn is probably the hottest person I've ever laid eyes on, but she's a tard for wanting to be with puck
-Mr. Shoe's wife pisses me off with her lying ways. It's going to be heartbreaking to see when he finds out she's not really pregnant.
What are everyone else's thoughts on the show for those that have seen?

It wasn't. When it first started out it was a solid comedy focusing on the the quirky teachers. Then the iTunes money started rolling in and they decided the show should be about the kids singing. Then after the iTunes money and the popularity started piling up, the show creator decided to use it as his own political agenda platform. The show never gets better than season 1.

I was a band geek in high school, and I actually enjoy musicals, so I watched. The first season was good. The second season wasn't as good, then it seemed like every episode was preachy. I stopped watching after the end of the second season.
I want to be entertained, not sit through an hour long gay pride/alternative lifestyle infomercial.
Not that theres anything wrong with that.

First season was actually good. It was funny and quirky. The second season was pretty good, but it seemed like they were trying too hard at times. After that, it became an after school special with lots of jazz hands.
My wife and I watched the first 3 1/2 seasons. We couldn't go any further. I have no idea how it is still on the air.

Ignoring the gay themes, the show gives horrible advice. My wife will watch it, and I'm always shaking my head at some of the things they say in the show.

I don't remember when we stopped, but this sounds about right.
We gave up right after the lame gun violence episode.

I'll just reiterate what others have said. The first season was extremely solid with funny, quirky characters. Second season wasn't bad, but not all that good either. We quit about 2-3 episodes into season 3. The music was lame, the characters stupid, and the themes preachy and overdone.

If OP is just starting to watch teh show and knows nothing about it, and specifically states in teh title "spoilers only halfway through S1"...then yeah, it's a spoiler. Because what was said has not happened yet through that point in his viewing.

I disagree. Does the OP think that they will have a CGI version of Finn in the future? He didn't give any specifics about an episode. The post just said that a dead guy is dead.

The wife loved it. I made it until the episode where they danced during a football game or something.
Also, the mexican chick was not hot and annoying so her being a main character hurt the show as well.
