I have recommended "Defending Your Life" to many people, and they all thanked me because they really enjoyed it.

So there's that.

The stuff you listed are pretty big time movies, but I guess to the casual person they haven't heard of some of those.

Hard Candy (2005)

The Impossible

I would even suggest Black Dynamite (2009) even though it's a silly spoof comedy. It's outstanding..

Assault on Precinct 13 (1976)
Exam (2009) (for a one time watch)

Sam Rockwell at his best.

Just watched this last night and felt very "meh" about it.

I'd suggest Coherence or Triangle to anyone who hadn't heard of them. Both very good. Coherence was the better of the two.

1. Brick (2005) -- Dialogue is catchy and the move is well written. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Lukas Haas are outstanding together. Trailer

2. Criminal (2004) -- John C. Reilly, Diego Luna, Maggie Gyllenhaal work perfectly for this con-artist movie. It moves quick and there are multiple twists and turns up until the very end. Trailer

I would highly recommend watching these 2 movies, you won't regret it.

These are the kinds of topics that keep me coming back. Good on ya, OP.

Just caught something on Showtime......Ya know what it's like to go into a movie without knowing what to expect, and you end up floored?

5 to 7

Holy shite, what a sublime film. Exquisitely written and shot. Frank Langella steals every scene he's in.

Thanks just trying to get some movies people haven't heard of or thought about watching before for one reason or another. I now recorded a few that people have mentioned that I never would've thought to watch.

Hell, I consider myself to be pretty well knowledgable on films yet I still put about 20 new films in my Netflix queue just from this thread alone.
