I dunno. Never watched that show. I was wondering about the waffles reference, it was too obvious to NOT be a reference to something else already out.

I couldn't tell if my dvr skipped twice or if it was the show. When Syd repeated herself as they were walking outside under that overhang, I started to think it was part of the show and his psychosis.

I noticed this. When they went back into the hospital after the incident the music and lighting looked and sounded literally straight out of stranger things.

Was the Domino 2:1 uniform (SWAT-type guys holding David at the school) a hint as to who that group was that held David? It doesn't ring any bells for me.

I don't care much for X-men stuff, but I recorded this because the previews looked decent and it had the guy who ruined Downton Abbey. Thoroughly enjoyed the first episode. Trippy indeed, but loved it.

I recorded and watched it last week. Wasn't sure what to think about it before watching it. I dont care for those campy 100% action 100% of the time marvel movies. But was pleasantly surprised by this. A really good psychological show, so far.

Well, after watching Taboo on DVR, I can confirm there is some issue with FX on either just my system or Playstation Vue. Damn, I was thinking I was catching some sort of trippy hint that he was imagining certain scenes.

Last week right after Syd and David switched bodies, when David (who was really Syd at the time) was screaming "No!" and Lenny was trying to calm everyone down she said "he's in the yellow" to the orderlies.
That really stuck out to me at the time and I started to notice a lot of color imagery in the show, yellow, red, maybe blue and green as well. All the red flashes, red light on that dog cage, Syd's clothes start out blue but she later only wears red or. black with red accents, etc.
The color thing that I thought was the most "in your face" were those brown leather jumpsuits; David's was always brown with a yellow stripe and yellow pocket accents, but Lenny's was red, not yellow. Other random patients had either yellow or red (Syd never wore one).
Like I said, that stuck out to me last week and I've been wondering about it.
Then, this week after they got high off of the (always blue) vapor from the frog, Lenny kept repeating "yellow leather, red leather, yellow leather, red leather" just before David saw the yellow eyed devil.
Definitely something up with color.
ETA: oh, and Syd's montage song was about rainbows

I hadn't thought of that, certainly could be.
It felt more sinister to me though. When he was mentioning that it was the first time that I noticed the whispers get inhuman and threatening. And he really got scared of that closet like he was afraid there was something in there.

I have a lot of questions and probably need to rewatch E1. But one thing that really stuck out to me last night was David's inability to see his father's face. Then it began to occur to me that we haven't seen his mother's face. So I now have an early theory (that could turn out to be very wrong): that we are not shown his mother's face because his mother is Syd, which is why he can never touch her in the "main" delusion that the audience is watching as if it is actually happening. David is *really* fricked in the head. Also, theory 1a - he killed her.
