'Splain. May have been in there, but I don't recall it. I was half watching, half doing other shite.

There's a black family that lives on an adjacent farm or whatever. And the Bondurants are somewhat friendly with them. Anyway, the patriarch dies so they go over to the black folks' home to pay their respects, but they also get stinking drunk and end up in a knife-fight with one of the black family members.

Right when it ended I logged onto FB & added it to my favorite movies. Gary Oldman plays a great villain. The whole cast was great in this including SL.

There were two gangster themed movies that came out that year and I thought the other one was better. What was it, gangster squad or something?

Yeah... Gangster Squad was not very good. Most likely because they had to rush & re-write & re-shoot the whole ending due to the Colorado movie theater massacre.

Eh. It was mediocre at best. The story was monotone and flat. I love Tom Hardy but this was not his strongest role - that was mostly due to the script though. It's like History of Violence.. a so-so movie with one sex scene that everyone uses to extrapolate to a quality of film that isn't really there.

Shia labeouf sucks in real life. Not too bad on big screen
I can agree with this. Fury was a big stepping stone for him.

Neither did I. You would think that the brothers, if they had any brains at all, would have invested in a few Tommy Guns with all the money they were making and wreck some shite with the mob. It was not realistic at all to me how they survived with only a few pistols and a shotgun or two. The shootout at the bridge was ridiculous.

I see your point. However, the movie wanted to emphasize that these brothers were complete badass MF's who weren't scared of shite which could be the reason they only carried pistols and shotguns

I loved it. Watched it 4 or 5 times. There was a black man that died in the movie. They didn't go to a funeral but I guess they had sort of a visitation at a bar. The casket was leaned up right against a wall with the body in it. Everyone got drunk.

I grew up around where the movie takes place, and I can tell you that they still have some BOMB arse moonshine around there. Awesome movie.

Great movie. I'm impressed how well Shia has sculpted his image. Not all actors can successfully break out of that goofy, slap-stick comedy at that early age. He kinda seems like a douche but I like him as an actor. His interview with Conan (i think) was pretty hilarious.
