Agreed. It shows that regardless of politics and difference of political agendas, these politicians deal with everyday problems while under the microscope. I am not a Biden supporter, but have more respect for him after this interview. This is where I think Colbert will separate himself from his counterparts.

Day 3 thus far has been pretty lame. It's some amalgimation of Colbert Report and the Tonight Show that isn't as entertaining as either.

You people are the worst.

It's been pretty solid so far. The bits are funny and he's been loosening up each night and settling in.

He's already got the best show on late night right now.

If you werent moved by him describing some of his final words and moments in the hospital room as he watched his son die of brain cancer i don't think you have a soul.

I am fully capable of appreciating the story while also commenting on what an unabashed lovefest this interview is.

a lovefest? all he did was talk about watching his son die and then dealing with a brutal slow death in the family.

that was all.

He's certainly the best interviewer on paper.

This interview has been solid. And i hate Joe Biden for making me not hate him right now.

The show needs better camera angles during the interviews. And they're too zoomed in.. It's kind of weird.

So wait, because he is giving a heartfelt interview; I am now going to change my political thoughts and support him?

because he's acting like a human being?

I am not changing my mind about his politics or his political views, but jesus man, you're watching a guy poor his soul out about his pride and love for his dead son.

Get over yourself.

That's one of the few times I've seen a politician act like an actual human being. It was nice to watch. Politics and bullshite aside.

Ignore these guys. It's Fallon's fanboys trying to troll because they are getting nervous their Queen just got dethroned in Late Night

Kinda too heavy and pious for what I like about Colbert. I hope he doesn't do this kind of thing too often.

That was solid and moving. Rough to watch and not what I was expecting.

This has been different than the late night mold and I'm really enjoying it so far.

I mean honestly, you and people like you, what did you want?

Biden starts talking about watching his oldest son die of brain cancer and making him promise that he'd be ok as he died and Colbert just starts making jokes and being obnoxious?

Colbert aims to the higher educated adult market

Only immature people can watch boring celebrities play charades and Chutes and Ladders every night

Strictly in the interest of comedy, which is what Colbert is known for, I'd say maybe avoid the topic?

He now hosts a late night show. He can't just do Colbert Report on CBS>.

Also, I'd say maybe you're an idiot.

That's the kind of interview Fallon could never have pulled off.

That was solid TV, a phenomenal interview, and a great late night show guest spot.

Who starts an interview, "Mr. Vice president, won't you please tell us a story about your dead son?"

Of course it's poignant and humanizing, but that is the point which is further driven home by Colbert's cheerleading for Biden's presidential run at the end.

Do I think Biden was being exploitive? No, I believe he answered the question presented to him. I don't even think Colbert was intentionally trying to prop him up so much as segments like this drive home how differently guests on these shows can be treated based on the preferences of the host.
