In my opinion, it wasn't his language that made him such a shitty person. It was the complete hypocrisy in the way he treated his players. Stephens led by example, and it was not a good one. He got himself ejected from a game, yet he called his players thugs when they stuck up for their teammates. He also seemed to have zero genuine regard for those young men. Fortunately, other staff (the OC, Miss Wagner, etc.) did seem to truly care about the players.

He also clearly had shitty relationships with some of his staff. Especially ones, like Mrs. Wagner, who worked legit magic to keep half of those kids on the field.

No disagreements here.

I think what did it for me last season was when that kid clearly had a concussion and Coach Stephens wouldn't even agree to send him for a CT. Then Mrs. Wagner had to get the ball rolling herself (literally going to that kid's dorm to check him out).

I found it funny as shite that the first coach they showed out there recruiting was Hugh Freeze. He resigns Thursday night, the show comes out on Friday. What a coincidence.

Something about the new DC comes off extremely fake.

I agree. The way Coach Stephens treated Ollie when he had that concussion was sickening.

I think it's because the violence and intensity of football calls for violent and intense language. When folks not only don't use that language but seemingly make a show of not using it, it makes them seem suspect (see Freeze, Richt, etc)

He did remember her name was Mit Wah though so maybe it wasn't a concussion.

**Spoilers**

I just finished the show and I'm mad as hell! What was Buddy's deal with the OC? I'm sure there's more to the story but from what we can see the OC miscounted 12 men on the field which caused Buddy to waste a timeout. He then proceeds to yell at him, tell him to get the F in the press box, and call Tricket down to call plays. Then it says that the OC stepped down but will remain in an administrative position. WTF? To me, he's one of the few bright spots of that staff/program.

Glad to see a lot of the coaches and staffers moving on. Buddy talks about God and changing while treating those around him like crap. I was bummed for some of the players that they missed the Natty but happy that the HC missed out.

Someone mentioned it already, but Kam is a complete POS. Any scene with him in it was unbearable for me. Isiah got that way as well towards the end.

I liked Rivers, Johnson, and the lb from Tech (forgot his name). I also really like Jay from the Dline. That kid was mature and had his priorities in line. The talk he had with Ms. Wagner telling her to chase her dreams made me want to go into the TV and shake his hand. Also really enjoyed every time he told Kam how shitty of a person he was.

Didn't think the D coordinator was a bad guy/bad coach, but I knew he wouldn't last with Buddy.

Also, I think the DLine coach is a good guy, but I can't see how he'd be a good enough recruiter at a bigger job.

I was waiting for it to say that Ms. Wagner was going to FAU with Johnson and Tricket to work for Freshwater!

When has Mark Richt ever been labeled "suspect"?

I'm on episode three, you can clearly tell when buddy wants to go off and remembers the cameras are there.

Also, I.Wright doesn't get it and that's unfortunate. But the kid is doing long term damage to himself.

I didn't read your entire post because I'm not done with the series. But, Wagner moved to Bham to open a educational program for athletes. Which is pretty damn smart of her.

Plus I don't blame her for wanting to get as far away from Buddy's program and Scooba.

It had always been grumbled by rival fans but really took off in 2007 after UGA rushed the endzone after scoring against UF. Opposing fans stuck to the narrative after that Richt was this fake, holier than thou impersonator. UGA fans even kind of ran with it in our own way and came up with the Evil Richt persona that would rear its head every now and then.

I'm sure Pitt didn't have access to the documentary before they signed him. As they watch it I bet they aren't happy.

Also Isiah Wright isn't on the west Georgia roster for 2017. Talk about a fall due to your own stupidity

I have an enormous amount of respect for those Coahoma kids and coaches. What an episode. Wow.
