Yeah, that's probably why it's not even on record for me. It's not a nightly show, right? Stewart and Colbert were good on a daily basis usually.

John Oliver basically mic drops his weekly <30 min show regularly.

Yeah, last night alone was better than anything Wilmore's ever done: LINK

frick Larry Wilmore. I've never been so happy for a show to be canceled.

He deserves to never work again. His show was horrendous, and his panels were unwatchable. I still cannot figure out what Comedy Central was thinking when they gave him a show.

Of all the talented people Stewart fostered and cultivated over the years and they went with Larry fricking Wilmore. Pathetic. Especially as the replacement to Colbert Report. A goofy satirical show that had great guests and interviews and they replaced it with a full blown leftist crap factory. Wilmore would often yell over his guests or stack his panels with mouthpieces and soundboards.

Give Wyatt Senac and Assiv Mandvi a crack at it.

Has been absolutely killing it on HBO. I want HBO to go pick up Senac and Mandvi and give them a slot after Oliver.

Go back to an hour long block like comedy central used to have.

John Oliver is the straight successor to Stewart. Give him his goofy satirical counter part.

My favorite update anchor of all time. I'd be all for that. And similar to Stewart, give him the desk and surround him with young comedians ad correspondents.

That commercial used to make me irrationally irate in my car.

It wasn't clever or funny. Like Wilmore's career. Lazy pandering nonsensical bullshite.

"Edgy" racial comedy. I'm convinced they were trying to find a Chapelle surrogate.

There is no other explanation.

Oliver's show to date is picking a topic, researching it, exposing it and educating audiences. And then making fun of everyone else newsworthy that has done stupid shite.

His show doesn't nearly have the leftist agenda as Stewart or Colbert Report.

I really like him where he is - he is only angst to those that are so far right and don't care to educate themselves. I enjoy knowing who those people are.

I just don't see how his comedy is at all like Chapelle's, aside from the race thing. But the thing is Chapelle turned race hypocrisy on its head. Wilmore instead went with the SJW mentality that whitie is the bad guy. Chapelle had no qualms pointing out his own race's failures on the table and turning it into gold.

As anyone who knows anything about comedy is that it's backbone is tragedy. Wilmore instead went on blaming everyone else and glorified idiocy and ignorance. He really should have been cancelled due to the Nye incident. If that had happened on one of Mahr's panel, who Wilmore gloriously ripped off at every turn, he would have stopped the lunacy immediately and asked his other panelists to stop acting like idiots and called them out on their bullshite. Wilmore on the other hand joins in making fun of Bill for being a nerd.

No way in hell would Stewart or his other true prodigies have done that. They understood the line between satire and true stupidity. Wilmore did not. That is why he ultimately failed and brought on nothing but a bunch of racebaiting SJWs as reporters and writers. His show was doomed from the start.

His comedy was nothing like Chapelle. Chapellewas a genius. And a hard worker.

As for black comedy,

Did they forget Key and Peele existed? I love Key and Peele, my only knock is they don't have a cast. I think it really hurts them.

Chapelle had a group of comedians with him and it brought Alot to the show. Key and Peele didn't have a roster.

Oliver is great and reports the facts, but I do sometimes disagree with his conclusions with the facts that he has presented us. His conclusion in his Migrants piece is that Europe needed these immigrants due to the fact that the European birthrate is on the decline, and that the refugees birthrates will help negate that. I see that as a reason not to let them in because they won't assimilate with the country's culture and overwhelm them due to this in the long run.

Exactly. Keye and Peele are the clear spiritual successors to Chapelle. They make classic skit after classic skit and don't get bogged down in PC bullshite. They'll call a spade a spade like Chapelle did and then take it to outrageous levels. There's no way in hell someone like Wilmore would create something as genius as Black White Supremacist Clayton Bigsby or the Mad Real World.

It's an insult to Chappelle to even mention him in the same sentence as Wilmore.

I think them being black gives them more leeway too. Wilmore would rather just cry about racism every night.

The funny thing is that I...I don't see Larry hanging with the homeboys down at the rec center. He's about as light-skinned and cornball as it gets, and tries to compensate by talking black & white non-fricking-stop. I don't get how these SJW's act like they're stuck in the fricking 1960's when race "dialogue" was all about blacks and whites. Somehow, they manage to ignore millions and millions of immigrants who have come to this country in the last 50 years with nothing and managed to live productive lives.

Woah now. I like Oliver, and he makes good points, and he sometimes goes after the left, but he avoids the most obvious left stories 90% of the time, and often lampoons the right regardless of topic.

His agenda is as obvious as the aforementioned two.
