what movie do you think should get it?

This. There's not a whole lot of options.

Is Gravity even worth watching while not in theaters/IMAX? I understand it was a visual feast for the eyes but does it remain a good movie when on DVD?

It wasn't worth watching in the theaters, much less at home. Save your time and do literally anything else and you will be happier.

It probably depends on immersing yourself in it as much as possible.

With a big screen TV, good sound system and the lights off, it should still be an effective movie. A lot of the effectiveness depends on you somewhat feeling the main character's isolation.

From what I've heard I feel like they fricked up in making this movie more about the effects than anything. Thats cool and all but you aren't going to make shite from dvd/blueray sales if its not worth seeing again. Plus I am just not a big fan of Sandra's work in the past few years.

If no one had wanted to watch it again then it wouldn't have finished #1 at the box office for three straight weeks and it wouldn't have made over $600 million worldwide.

Why are you being defensive about a movie?

Weird

Yes. Obviously the theater makes it an awesome experience, but it's more than a good enough movie that it's not completely necessary to be immersed in IMAX 3D to watch it.

I liked it...although I expect this thread to be filled with hilarious, irrational hatred of it because some people are idiots.

That's due to George Clooney. If everybody knew that Clooney would get far less screen time in the movie than Bullock, I bet box office numbers wouldn't have been so hot.

You'd lose that bet.

I think you can argue that Bullock is far better of a box office draw than Clooney for most people (certainly domestically).

Critics and regular viewers are so different in terms of what they like now a days.

So you speak for "regular viewers"? How valiant of you. As a regular viewer myself, I've been waiting for a hero like yourself to step up and speak on our behalf my whole life.

Lol at the way this board acts.

Critics love a movie? frick that they don't speak for the people.

Mainstream audiences love it and turn out in droves? frick that the people are drooling fools blinded by shiny objects.

Critics AND audiences love a movie? frick that the 6 people on the MTV board that hate everything know better!

Gravity is the most critically acclaimed movie that nobody would want to watch again, which makes it the most over-acclaimed.

I watched Gravity twice in the theater. I would not watch 12 Years a Slave again.

Wow....no 12 Years A Slave was way, way better. And I'm certain Llewyn Davis and Wolf/Wall Street will be much better than Gravity as well.

I agree. I lost interest in Gravity within 30 min.

So you're saying those people who went to see Gravity in its first weekend, making it #1 at the box office, didn't tell all of their friends that Clooney wasn't in the film all that much when they went to see it over the next two weeks - when it again finished #1 at the box office?
