my memory is a little foggy from that far back....did they reveal to the viewer why those documents were important, or are we all about to find out?

Raylan's line (which doubled as the title) "Your card is in fate's right hand, don't you see how this plays out?" was pretty eerie. Thought it said a lot about how Raylan sees Dewey.

Also, the Jesse James killing was pretty great way to go for Dewey-forever wishing to be an outlaw.

with Boyd's decision to kill Dewey was when Dewey mentioned Mexico

looks like you were correct

quote:

n your mind, when did Boyd decide he had to do it?
It's in the final scene. It was just Dewey saying he had to talk to Boyd about Mexico. That was it. That was Dewey's mistake.

I think the straw that broke the camels back with Boyd's decision to kill Dewey was when Dewey mentioned Mexico.

that and when Boyd asked Dewey what happened to your face.

Dewey: Raylan broke my jaw.

then Boyd asks why.

Dewey: I don't know why.

poor bastard.

he was always in over his head and it finally caught up to him.

then Dewey tops it off with the "I'm your friend, talk to me" line to Boyd.

Dewey was dead before he blurted out the line about Mexico in my opinion.

I don't know. Raylan has been beating the crap out of Dewey since the first episode. Boyd knows he was being watched which is why he used Dewey as a distraction. And he had to figure that if he was being watched, the Raylan would've most likely been in on it. So Raylan roughing Dewey up wouldn't have been anything new or a surprise. Plus Dewey didn't know squat about the details of the bank job. But the Mexico comment came out of left field, and you could see by his reaction that it took Boyd by complete surprise. And Dewey knew plenty about what all went down in Mexico.
