I wouldn't go that far, but I will miss Dewey.

Earlier in the episode I told my dad that I half-heartedly wanted Dewey to make it out, just cause he might be a criminal and a murderer but he's the only non-sociopath on the show, .

Then it went down and all I could think about was Of Mice And Men.

loved the ending. It really set the tone for the rest of the season. Boyd is full on bad guy.

The second Dewey revealed Raylan had enough interest in him to follow after the tow truck you could see Boyd putting it all together.

Had he said nothing about Raylan he'd still be alive.

this and he was so curious as to how Dewey got out. At the very least he suspected him as in informant.

Good point. He already had his doubts. Dewey was naive enough to confirm them for him.

but Dewey never ratted Boyd out did he? I figured Boyd just killed him because he was too much of a liability.

Dewey is a tragic figure.

You would almost have to believe Boyd was always aware that Dewey was a potential liability. I think it got very real for Boyd last night, discovering Raylan's interest in Dewey, and that's why he took Dewey out when he did.

Agree. When he gave that "I want it to be like it used to be" speech, you could hear the clock ticking for him.

I think the straw that broke the camels back with Boyd's decision to kill Dewey was when Dewey mentioned Mexico. He said it off hand, and Boyd automatically was like "what did you say". I think the fact that Raylan was tailing Dewey, and the fact that he figured someone had to have asked Dewey about Mexico for it to be on Dewey's mind, left Boyd with no doubt that Dewey was a huge liability.

Which gets back to Eva. She got out of prison under what could be described as curious circumstances.

Yeah, but how big of a blind spot does Boyd have when it comes to Ava? That's the million dollar question right now.

I kinda saw him watching her sleep as kind of ominous after killing Dewey. I feel like he has some questions in his mind about her as well.

any chance this can be changed into a season-long thread? i might enjoy revisiting it now & again, as opposed to searching for multiple threads about different episodes.

yeah, the moment boyd cleared the room, i knew dewey was a goner. at least he gave us a few classic "dewey-isms" last night before finally leaving this earth, lol....

i think ava will be around for the series' duration. one of the season promos kinda suggested that, anyway....i expect her to make both boyd & raylan act increasingly irrational as the season progresses.

any idea what boyd was looking for in the safe deposit boxes?

He was doing the job for the woman Duffy answers to from last season, so I imagine those documents were exactly what he was looking for.

My money is on Ava killing Raylan and she and Boyd escaping Harlan (remember the story she and Raylan) discussed on the bridge...never saw it coming.
