Conspired with the head of the Detroit Mafia to have someone killed.

Raylan took a long ride to get Danny's mind right and left without doing a damn thing. Did he think the female marshal's whack to Danny's nose was sufficient retribution for nearly killing his girl?

I suspect that in light of his tenuous standing with Art, he probably decided that he should play it according to Hoyle.
Plus, I think he was counting on Boyd and Crew to take care of the problem for him, as opposed to teaming up.

I do understand that line of reasoning but it still begs the question, why make the drive in the first place.

I'm not certain Raylan is completely aware of the dynamics between Boyd and the Crowes.

I meant more as to the clear antagonism between Carl and Danny.
As to the first part (taking the drive in the first place), he probably did intend to kick his arse, but had time to ponder on the drive.
Or, hell, maybe he just didn't want to do that inventory.

Very likely.

He was going to kick his arse. When he got there he discovered Boyd's guy obviously kidnapped. By setting him free he assumed Boyd would kill the Crowe. Much better and cleaner than anything Raylan was planning. It was clear through his conversations with Smart and his partner that he did miss getting to put a beating on the Crowe.

Just finished last night's episode.
I love this show but this season is different.
So many damn story lines it feels like I'm watching GoT.

When is Raylan going to figure out that Wendy isn't actually a lawyer? She can't be doing everything she's doing completely on the up and up.

They seem to be building up the possibility of Raylan letting the little head do the thinking and having him and Wendy hook-up. The shite that would cause would be fun to watch unravel.
