Hopefully you're starting with Season 1 Episode 1.
Have fun, it's one of the best.

Byron, if you don't want to go through the whole thing, search for an essentials list. You'll catch the lore episodes and some of the classic monster of the week.
I'm not discouraging you from watching it, but it is 9 seasons of 23ish 1 hr episodes. 7-9 are a noticible reduction in quality.

Yes. Doesn't a movie come out between seasons?

Fight the future takes place between 5 and 6

If you're in a time crunch u can do the essential list... And yes 7 and 8 do fall off.... But it's really a great series as a whole

The episode Home isn't listed in the essentials. All I know is it's is considered one of the most fricked up things ever broadcast

Me too, and I'm gonna take my time with it. I had never realized how long this show was until I pulled it up on Netflix. 9 seasons of 20+ 40 minute episodes is too much to binge.

Just watch them all. It's worth it..just to watch Mulder and Scully interact is awesome. Mulder's sarcasm is a really good part of the show.
And with watching all of the episodes, the mythology episodes are THAT much better because you're waiting for one.
I'm on season 4 and I love it

Just started season 3. This sums up my experience so far

Started a few weeks ago. My wife has no interest in watching and I have a toddler who loves him some cartoons. We only have one TV in the house so it's extremely slow going. I remember watching episodes here or there as a kid, but never really watched it. Couldn't tell you more than that it had to do with aliens/weird stuff.

So far I've seen Jack Black and Ryan Reynolds
