Holy. shite.

Got to be up there with one of the greatest shows I've ever seen. I'm looking for a new show to sink my teeth into now. I've got really broad taste. If it's good, I'll watch it.

Shows I've seen or am currently watching:

Lost
Mad Men
GoT
The Leftovers
The Walking Dead
Friends
Seinfeld
Breaking Bad

Just to name a few.

Help me out!

Peaky Blinders on Netflix is pretty good.
I just watched the first few episodes to Marco Polo last night. It seemed prety cool.
I finished watching through The Sopranos a few weeks ago. I thought it was really good, but I'm not sure it is as good as advertised.
Watched the first season of Boardwalk Empire recently. It seems like it's kind of a Sopranos set in the 20's.

That's what I've been checking lately. If you have HBOGO or Amazon Prime you can always check out some of the retro HBO shows. The Wire is an all time great. I've been thinking about rewatching Carnivale or Deadwood.

I've heard people say this is good but know literally nothing about it. What is the general premise of the show?

For True Detective fans it should be good.

It's kind of a jazzed up gangster story set in England immediately after WWI. The gang is the Peaky Blinders, and they run numbers and stuff. Much of the soundtrack is Jack White, either the Raconteurs or White Stripes. There is a little more emphasis on style rather than substance. It's sort of made to create a mythos of the gang.

The lead, Cilian Murphy, gives a pretty bad arse performance.

There are two short seasons out right now, each being 6 episodes.

It's about a street gang in England post WWI. I would highly recommend it. It's not BB or the Wire, but it's definitely high quality TV.

I would disagree, although I would still say that Fargo is worth watching. Fargo's production seemed noticeably a lot cheaper and cheesier to me. How things unfold seemed in TD seemed a lot more effective to me while Fargo left me shaking my head at times. I bought into the dark atmosphere of TD a lot more while Fargo just seemed cliche at times.

You left the two greatest shows of all time off your list: The Sopranos and The Wire. Those would be my recommendations, in that order.

If you liked True Detective, watch Fargo.

Different style but same type of show...anthology series about a crime story.

I think Fargo had a lot more of a playful theme. These characters are supposed to be bad but we enjoy them nonetheless. I didn't give a crap about anyone in true detective and never really felt invested with what I was watching.
