Damn, picked a weird night to announce it. Wonder who will replace him.

Probably his last day will be 1/12/2017 so he and Obama can retire together and suck each other off

Interesting. I bet John Oliver's agent is doing a happy dance. Craig Ferguson could probably do a good job with that show too.

I wonder if John Oliver would want to come back...he has a pretty good thing going at HBO though

Yeah the gig at HBO show sounds much nicer compared the time and effort put in at the Daily Show. I just listened to Jon Stewart's interview with Howard Stern and you could tell he has been weighing this option for awhile.

Yeah he can basically do and say whatever he wants on HBO. You can't just randomly say "frick you" on the Daily Show

I just saw this, and I'm in shock. I mean, I knew it would come, but I didn't expect it this soon. There are other "funnymen" on the show that could fill in - we saw John Oliver manage, and maybe Jason Jones would do - but I'm going to miss Stewart's keen observational skills and even keel tone. When Craig Kilborn hosted it, The Daily Show was a repository of oddball news and celebrity gossip. Jon Stewart turned it into something so much more.

Last Friday Andrew Sullivan closed the book on The Dish, and now Jon Stewart is hanging it up. Shitty week.

Comedy Central loses Colbert and John Stewart back to back.

Ouch.

Oliver would be pretty dumb to leave his show for this one unless the money was a big difference

I really didn't like Oliver when he filled in for Stewart but he kills it on HBO.

Comeback specials for Carlos Mencia, Dane cook, and Demitri Martin, and 2 new Kroll Shows every week

Ferguson would be pretty solid IMO.

To the other guy talking about his stern interview....yeah. you could tell he was leaning that way.
