Shutter Island would be a good one.

Agreed. One of my favorite movies, and definitely along the lines of the movies OP listed.

Forget Primer.

Go with Timecrimes instead as mentioned by others in this thread.

Both good ones, and Lock, Stock, and two smoking barrels and the already mentioned 12 monkeys.

Any movie(s) you recommend that fall in line with these? I think I'll watch Primer next

def watch Primer. i'd also suggest:

Zodiac
Timecrimes
Prisoners
Looper
Mystic River
Upstream Color
The Game

I personally love the aesthtic of the dark crime thrillers and suspense thrillers listed above. They probably keep my attention focused more than any other genre

Lol.

1/10. Could have bumped it up to 3/10 if you wouldn't have been so enthusiastic about it with the exclamation point.

romantic scenes from the past do NOT hold up well

the combination of cringey dialogue and transatlantic accent

+1. Rarely anyone has seen it when I bring it up in conversation. I have watched it at least 5 times because I was letting someone else watch it.
