My plan is to watch a different horror movie each day this October. Most will likely be ones I've seen already. I'll keep an ongoing list and update OP. Always looking for recs too.

Oct. 1 - The Invitation

quote:

While attending a dinner party at his former house, a man starts to believe that his ex-wife and her new husband have sinister plans for the guests.

So good. This is one I first saw last year. Slow thriller that builds with an awesome payoff.

Oct. 2 - The Monster Squad

quote:

Members of a monster fan club meet Count Dracula, Wolfman, Frankenstein, the Mummy and Gill Man.

quote:

One part The Goonies, one part Ghostbusters, and one part Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein

One of my favorite childhood movies. A horror/action/comedy written by Shane Black (Lethal Weapon, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Nice Guys).

Oct. 3 - Gerald's Game
Oct. 4 - The Innkeepers

What type of horror films are you wanting to watch? Slasher or something kind of suspenseful?

I always watch the original Halloween, Halloween 2 and Halloween H20. I'd also recommend The Fog(1980), The Others(if you like a nice plot twist), Paranormal activity etc.

I watched The Babadook for the first time and really liked it. Saw It Follows on another list so I'll put that in the queue; might watch the Invitation tonight though

AMC is cutting fearfest short a couple weeks this year so they can play more walking dead reruns.

They're not having 31 days of Halloween? They have it every year

2. It Follows

3. The Nightmare

4. Babadook

5. They Look Like People

Not on Netflix:

I don't confine myself to one month for each particular genre. I watch movies whenever I feel like it. I don't understand this line of thinking that you can only watch horror movies in a certain month.

I just finished Gerald's Game on Netflix.

Twisted, not particularly scary although a few creepy parts.

If you like Stephen King, you'd like this one.

I don't think he said only watch them during October. But, Halloween time definitely inspires more horror watching.

Yeah!

Like, I like eating turkey all year round especially on sandwiches. Always seemed weird and lame-o to me that people make a big deal about eating turkey only one day a year. They even talk about the leftovers like eating turkey a second day is some big deal! Don’t they realize you can roast a turkey in July just as well as November?

It Comes at Night was a decent suspense-thriller. Good for as low budget as it was.
