It's on Netflix. I've watched all the other series with my dad but he wouldn't N watch/didntnlike this one. I just asked him why and he said he thought there was too much political BS and he got a season or two in but is open to trying to get interested in later.

Heard it starts slow but by the end is the best overall Trek series.

Garak is one of the best characters in the Trek universe. Easily the best supporting character.

Yes, it is worth a watch.

I am in Season 5 of my watch.

Very much worth it.

Packed with more "great" characters than any other Star Trek.

Odo, Garek, Kira, O'Brien, Dukay, Eddington, etc.

Great storyline too.

Has been my favorite overall ST show.

I just watched beginning to end. It's the worst of all the newer series. Still glad I watched it though. Also Worf is an a-hole in DS9

ETA: I might give it more hate than it deserves because of Sisko's terrible acting. Garak is the man.

I never cared for it, because they never went anywhere. And the lesbian was annoying.

Probably the best opening credits of all of the series.

I originally got into DS9 because of Sisko, or more to the point, Hawk.

Dude was a bad motherfricker

I thought he was going to pimp-slap some Klingons when he came to Star Trek

It does start off slow, they take a while to develop the characters, but then it really takes off and you want it to keep going at the end.

I just started a watch of this last week - while I jog, so it'll be slow going.

I had watched most of Season 1 when it originally aired and just had trouble getting into it. But the love for it here had me convinced a watch was worth it.

I actually just finished a re-watch of it. It's probably my favorite of the three "next generation" series. It's not like the other Treks, as it is more serialized than the others especially towards the final season. (There aren't a lot of the one-off episodes that don't connect to others.) Also, it doesn't show the future as some utopia where everyone, for the most part, gets along. The Federation is at war for much of the series.

But this makes for excellent character development. Garak, Dukat, and (over a briefer period) Dumar are all great characters. Quark and Odo's "friendship" is portrayed well in my opinion, and Quark develops nicely too.

It explores science, faith, duty, and politics pretty well. One of the better episodes actually goes back to the Tribble episode of the Original Series.

I wasn't a fan of the non-space-exploration aspects of the series. The addition of Worf and the Defiant were blatant attempts to make it more in line with the previous two series and, for me, it worked.

I really liked and as others mentioned the characters really made the series.

If you want to see what it's like with the Federation (and the whole Alpha Quadrant) in a full on war, then definitely watch it. I loved it. But like some have said, things are slow developing, and the actual war doesn't formally start until like the 5th season.
